Great Hotel in a historic part of ScotlandPosted Aug 18, 2014
Cons: The address requires greater clarity, since anyone using satnav will have some difficulty. A telephone call to the premises quickly resolves this.
Location: Linlithgow is steeped in Scotland's history with many interesting places to visit and is close to all the varied attractions of Edinburgh.
Glenavon House is a real gem which has been exquisitley developed by the current owners. Large tastefully furnished rooms provide great places to relax and enjoy the excellent service provided by the staff and owners. Breakfast was a real delight, our only disappointment was that we had only booked one nights accommodation. Rarely have we stayed in such spacious accommodation and hopefully we will be able to return in the near future.

Great once we found it.Posted May 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
GPS does not take you to B and B. But local directed us. Sue is a doll. She did everything to make us feel welcome. Room was giant and comfortable. Breakfast wonderful. But conversation was the best.

we had a marvellous time at Glenavon House, sue was a fantastic hostess and gave us a lot of very informative tips on places to visit while we were there, she also offered to drive us to the train station on our visit into Edinburgh. The room was fantastic, the scottish cooked breakfast a feast to behold, would definetly visit again.

Top notch B&BPosted Oct 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
This house was incredible and it's just outside of the city. Sue was an wonderful host and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at her B&B. The room was big, with an even bigger bathroom. There was tea & coffee with a water boiler in the room, and Sue was nice enough to bring up some milk for the tea. The house was very large and sat on a nice, private area of land. It provided a beautiful walk in the morning and there is even a stream running through the back of the property. My only suggestion as an improvement would be a light at the end of the driveway, as it was hard to find at night, but she even mentioned that she was planning on doing this anyway. There is also a pub and restaurant that's just a few minute walk from the B&B, so you can have a few pints and not worry about having to drive. It's just a 20 minute drive outside of Edinburgh and worth the stay if you fly into the airport.

Nicest place we stayed in Scotland!Posted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: The home was gorgeous and very comfortable. Breakfasts were the best we had in all of Scotland.
Location: Edinburgh is near. Loved Linlithgow Palace and Sterling Castle is also nearby.
We loved staying at Glenavon House. Sue was very helpful in every way. Our room was beautiful, and her breakfasts were the best in Scotland! Would definitely recommend!

Like staying in a castle.Posted Sep 1, 2013
Beautiful home, looks like a castle. We were treated like a king and queen. Sue went out of her way to make us feel at home even driving us to train station. Great breakfast. Would stay again.

Simply the BEST!Posted Jun 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The house is beautiful, the room devine with the most comfy bed on earth, a fantastic breakfast and the owners will make your stay one that you wiil never forget. We originally booked a B&B in the countryside because the city was full up for the weekend. After one night here we didnt want to leave. We used the house as a base to explore the area. Edinburgh is a 15 min train ride away. Linlithgow itself has some interesting things to see also. We will return to this wonderful place,
