“Fine Hotel, Far Away”

This was a fine hotel - clean, comfortable, friendly staff. It is about 2 miles from the city center, however, and you'll need to take a bus in (if you don't have a car). Also, wifi is not included and if you book through expedia, breakfast is an extra charge. Good hotel - just things to know before you book.

“Return stay booked”

Over all impression very good. We ate most of our meals on site. Food was excellent, especially breakfast. If you plan to enjoy breakfast, be sure to order upon 'check in' & you will be given a 5£ discount.Staff was very friendly. The only disappointment was the wifi and available computer. 5£ per hour was a bit steep, especially when it was not working properly. Apparently the Hotel contracts with an outside firm which needs to straighten up their act. If the Hotel advertises 'wifi available through out the house' they should be in control of the system and even offer it as a free service of the Hotel for guests.

“Poorly maintained property”

We chose this hotel largely because we had an early flight leaving Edinburgh and wanted a hotel near the airport. The hotel was reasonably near the airport, but was not a good hotel. Most importantly, we were shocked to find out when we checked in that the sink in our room was plugged shut, with standing water in the basin, and yet had apparently been cleared by the cleaning crew for us to check in. Getting the sink unplugged was quite a production. Our check out was also poorly handled. The night desk clerk acted as though we were imposing on her time when we asked her to complete the checkout. All in all this was not a well run hotel and I would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone else.

“not close to anything”

even though this is in the city, it is at the other end of the city. You most take the bus or taxi almost out of the city. All of the restaurants and attractions are in the center and you have to travel to them. The hotel has a restaurant with good food though. Helpful desk staff when getting taxis.

“An Amazing Stay!”

I have been to a few Holiday Inns all over and even a few Hotels in the UK. This place was amazing! The employees at the front desk were very helpful and their attitude made it seem as though they were there to cater to us. The rooms were very clean with a pretty decent view. The breakfast was great with everything you would expect. Although it was my first time eating Haggis, it was very good. The location isn't the best but its definitely not bad. For £1.30 and about 10-15min you can get to the center of town or take a taxi for £6. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who doesn't mind a short amount of travel to the tourist spots.

“Incredible views of Edinburgh”

I would highly recommend this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Views of Edinburgh on east side of hotel are incredible.

“Great place to stay”

We had a great experience at this hotel..when the desk clerk found out that it was our first visit to Edinburgh, he made sure to give us a room with a view of the castle. He also went out of his way to help us with computer connections in our room. The hotel is some distance from the main attractions in Edinburgh, but the bus stop is nearby. There is also a small shopping center across the street with some major stores,grocery & bank, etc.

“If you expect small rooms as you find in most European hotels you will be comfortable.”

The overall stay was good. The location is a little outside the center of the city but it is an easy bus ride to the city. Nice views of the castle and city from our room. I do not suggest the breakfast buffet. It was terrible and not worth the money. The rooms are small but we expected they would be. Edinburgh is so wonderful that you wouldn't want to spend much time in your hotel anyway.
