Exceptional, a Total BargainPosted Dec 3, 2014
Cons: Very little - it's pretty much perfect for my tastes.
I still can't believe just how good the hotel is for the money. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Public areas spic and span, nicely done with cosy bar and internet area. My bedroom was amazing, incredibly comfortable, with character and tastefully decorated - the pictures on the hotels own website don't do the rooms justice. Breakfast excellent - choice and quality. Good wifi. The location is a little out of the centre, but very easy to get to by bus once you know that you simply aim for the Commonwealth Pool on the Dalkieth Road. The whole experience really made the trip to Edinburgh most enjoyable. Thank you so much Ceilidh-Donia.

Little gem!Posted Dec 3, 2014
What luck! First time to Edinburgh and we found a lovely guest house. The rooms were neat, clean and comfy. A little home from home. The bathroom was very clean and spacious, and the beds comfortable. Nothing looked tired or worn. Plenty of attention to detail too. Breakfast was great. Plenty of variety on offer and the food was good quality, well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice to see there were dvds and snacks for sale, to keep kids occupied. Town is not far away, and easy to get to. We will definitely be back. :-D

Edinburgh 3 star hotelPosted Nov 27, 2014
I rented 2 rooms for 2 days in November2014. My room was room 1. There was a heat problem with this room that went unresolved for both days. There was an electric heater in the room when I arrived so they must have been aware of this. It wasn't freezing out and being only 2 days here, we survived. My son's room was too hot so it appears the heat is a problem here. As for location, since we were 4, we took cabs instead of buses. The hotel is in an all residential area with little stores around. The hotel was 15 minutes by cab to city center. The breakfast was standard, nothing great. Have stayed in 3 star that should be 4, this hotel is just a 3 star.

Nice hotel.Posted Nov 18, 2014
Cons: Beds could be larger and more sturdy.
Location: 30 minute walk to the Royal Mile. Buses very close by.
The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. Breakfasts were very good. The room was small and the bed was very wobbly.

business and pleasurePosted Nov 14, 2014
Pros: good standard of everything.
Cons: caffeine free tea in the room and a menu for everyone sitting at the table.
Location: big rock outside and hotel is situated in a residential area.
Quiet, clean, warm, comfortable with plenty tea's, coffee's, shampoo etc. There is a great view from the front of the hotel. It's in a quiet part of Edinburgh and roadside parking was no problem. Good breakfast offering abundance and choice. Striking decor but not to my taste. Staff are efficient and professional but i thought a little too business, after my 1 day drive i could have done with some real friendliness. Nothing to complain about though -- although i'm keener to find a cheaper place.

Preisgünstig, in Wohngegend gelegenPosted Oct 20, 2014

Wanted to love it, but...Posted Oct 13, 2014
This hotel changed hands between the time we booked and when we arrived. We were looking forward to Scots atmosphere, but were disappointed. New owner is trying hard, but seems a little overwhelmed. Apparently the staff were all kept on, but the breakfasts (formerly rated as a high point) were barely edible. The beds were very hard and very narrow. We stayed on the top floor and the stairs were very steep and, for elderly people, probably not navigable (no one offered to help with our luggage). DVD player in room didn't work. Not a great experience overall.
