Great little hotel

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: The friendly atmosphere combined with the quality of the rooms.
Cons: The only suggestion is that the coffee and tea at breakfast were both on the weak side although the breakfast itself was fabulous.
Hotel Ceilidh-Donia is located a couple miles from the downtown area of Edinburgh but an easy 10 minute bus ride to the core area. The hotel looks unimpressive when you see it but the inside is warm and welcoming with the rooms being rebuilt to modern standards and really clean and comfortable. However, most hotels meet this mark but what separates Ceilidh-Donia from others is that the owners and staff go out of the way to make your stay a good experience. The breakfast menu was better than any we had seen in the UK in a month of travelling plus there was a bar and snacks available for non-breakfast periods of the day. The hotel just felt like being in the home of good friends or family complete with the family golden retriever greeting you in the lobby.

Enjoyed our stay. Very clean. They have good breakfasts. Not too far to the bus stop. We stayed on bottom floor, so we didn't have to navigate the stairs. We would stay here again.

Nice clean Hotel and quiet neighbourhood.

Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: Away from the city center and in a very nice, quiet neighbourhood with easy access to transportation. Owners were great and very friendly.
Cons: Not much I can say here.
Location: Location was very quiet. Arthur's Hill a short walk away as well as the pool. Great food and Pubs a short walk away too.
On arrival the owners were very pleasing to deal with and went out of their way to make you feel at home. Spent a total of four nights with them and it was a very enjoyable stay. Staff as well were nice and pleasant.

Great hotel!

Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: Friendly, intimate, and extremely comfortable.
Cons: Not much!
Location: We stayed here to be close to our daughter's apartment, and it was a little far from central Edinburgh, but good bus service to downtown.
The hotel was awesome, the staff helpful and friendly, the food delicious, and the dog was terrific. We loved staying here for two weeks, while visiting our daughter.

Nice hotel close to bus line.

Posted Apr 23, 2014
Pros: Everything. Our second best out of the four we stayed at on our trip.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: Short walk to bus line.
Enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend. Breakfast was included cooked to order. Clean updated rooms. Loved the air induced high power showers, and the pup that meets you at the entrance.

Lovely place.

Posted Mar 20, 2014
Location: Close to Arthur's Seat and bus services nearby to get you to the heart of Edinburgh.
Everything was lovely. Comfy room and great breakfast in the morning. Not sure if there are rooms downstairs but you have to carry your luggage upstairs so may not suit people with special needs.
