Very high quality apartments with everything you could want. Made good use of the washing machine. The only negative comments are due to very squeaky floors and some door handles are loose. The doors between rooms are fire doors which are good in theory but slam shut which is annoying. The door stoppers don't work that well as they are rubber and damaged. But the place is beautiful.

Very convenient and in the middle of the action. Since access to the street is through a "close" the actual suite was very quiet. The suite was very modern, clean while the building itself was maintained in the historical sense which is very appealing.

We travel extensively and, more often than not, I find that hotels fall short of expectations regarding female travelers. The Scotsman is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of staying in.
The staff and service was exceptional and the attention to detail in the room can only be described as exquisite. The quality of the bed and bedding, draperies, adequate lighting for dressing, plenty of room for clothing, and enough room in the bath for my toiletries and my husbands...I could go on and on.
We stayed in many hotels while traveling in Scotland, all of them top of the line, but the Scotsman was our favorite!! Tremendous location and value!

We stayed for 8 days, and the whole experience was delightful. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was friendly and willing to help from calling a cab, mailing our post cards, finding a restaurant, to giving advice and directions (with a map) to must see sites. The breakfast was fabulous! Everything you could want to choose from--fresh fruit, meat and cheeses, cold or hot cereal, eggs, bacon, haggis, salmon, on and on....and the staff didn't hurry us up at all, they let us sit and enjoy our tea or coffee and the rain outside the window. The room was comfortable, but a little warm because it was above the kitchen. FYI there is no elevator, but the staff put our luggage in our room for us (we got there before check in and left our bags with the front desk and explored the city until dinner time) The bathtub was a Jacuzzi tub and the shower was really nice. There was a mini bar, a nespresso machine, and teapot in the room along with a flat screen tv and a radio/docking station.

Amazing apartment! 4 of us stayed here last weekend and couldn't have been happier with the apartment. It was very clean and we had more space than we needed! Staff were lovely and we had amazing views of Edinburgh and the end of festival fireworks from the rooftop terrace. Would definitely stay here again!
