Very nice guest house.Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: Close to the Zoo, which was why we were in Edinburgh.
Cons: Room could have done to be a few degrees warmer in January - but maybe that's just us?
Location: Quite a long bus ride if you are 'doing' the City Centre, but good for the Zoo or Airport (no discernible noise from the airport).
Very nice guest house. Clean, smart and comfortable. Frequent, convenient bus service to city centre or airport. Ideally situated for the Zoo (just across the road). Excellent Chinese restaurant just a few doors away. Our stay was brief but enjoyable.

Cheap & cheerfulPosted Jan 19, 2013
Excellent if you don't have a car. Public transport very good right outside the door. Very steep stairs to get into the place - don't take big or heavy bags. Room dated and in need of a refurbishment, but overall very comfortable with a quiet room to the back. Would stay again.

Great valuePosted Jan 2, 2013
We were very impressed with cleanliness of the room and breakfast room. The location was good, very easy to find and easy to get into city Centre via regular affordable bus service. Would definitely recommend.

Picked the Macintosh after an unexpected but necessary overnight stay in Edinburgh. Joanne gave us a very warm welcome on reception and we stayed in a very comfortable and warm room. We were able to enjoy a decent nights sleep after a stressful day followed by a superb breakfast the following morning. Joanne was a very helpful and lovely lady who made the difficult circumstances of our stay all the better.

Good place for couples.Posted Sep 25, 2012
Pros: The full breakfast.
Cons: Can be noisy due to traffic and thin walls.
Location: Right opposite the zoo and on the main road in from the airport.
Very nice room, directly opposite the zoo. There are a number of road and rail links into the city centre and elsewhere. Full English breakfast every day, made to your licking. There are also a number of nice restaurants/pubs nearby. Overall it was a very pleasing stay, great for couples who want to use it as a base to see the sights, I would defiantly recommend staying here.

We had a friendly welcome from a very helpful landlady. The room and ensuite were spotless and the bed very comfortable. TV and coffee making facilities were present. Breakfast was good.
