Clean, beautiful, and inexpensive.Posted Aug 7, 2014
Location: It is very convenient to downtown Edinburgh.
Very pleasant staff. I stayed on the top floor in a simple, neat room with a beautiful skylight and pleasant view. Located on one of the campuses of Edinburgh University, it's a good location and certainly worth the money. Taxis close by, a student store that sells stamps and has a post box. Very pleasant, inexpensive stay. I'd definitely recommend it.

Great locationPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Parling and breakfast included
Cons: It did what it said on the tin - so nothing
Location: Great pub The Salisbury and near to the centre of Edinburgh

Dont StayPosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Food only
Cons: Staff, parking facilities, access keys, sound proofing
Location: Good location really handy to town
Limited parking means none and the closest is on residential streets a mile walk back if you can find a park Masson house is on a university campus so facilities are shared, parking, foodhall If your a couple staying you get only one electronic key to get inside and then thru an internal hallway door, so you must travel in and out together, bit of a pain while your finding that park a mile away

Good Location !Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Large breakfast selection (though it's the same every day)
Cons: Bathroom was TINY Biggest problem was walls are paper thin. You can hear your neighbor talking (though not what they're saying)
Convenient for Exploring Center of Edinburgh You need to realize this is Student accommodation made available in the summer for Conferences and visitors.

Lodgings on student campusPosted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Use of free safe in room and good selection of food at breakfast.
Cons: Room servicing and parking.
Not a 3star hotel. Room small, holes in bed linen, sticky patches on carpet next to bed, taps difficult to turn off and in need of attention. Breakfast in another building and very noisy. Good selection but food not very hot and plates cold. We stayed 2 nights and although the bed was made the cups were not washed, milk not replaced, bin not emptied and shower room not cleaned. No dedicated parking for Masson House and being on campus there were numerous speed humps. A disappointing stay.

Reasonable value-for-money hotel.Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Pleasant staff, good breakfast with plenty of choice.
Cons: Room soundproofing is non-existent, I could have joined in my next door neighbour's conversation!
Location: A bit out of the city centre but reasonably accessible on foot (25 mins from city centre) ord by 'bus (10-15 mins). Commonwealth pool is adjacent.
I booked this hotel for two reasons. Firstly because although I live close to the city, I was attending a retirement dinner during the evening at a nearby restaurant, and secondly because the rate offered through Expedia was reasonable in comparison with some hotels. Edinburgh hotels in the summer months in particular can be eye-wateringly expensive. Although the room was a bit small it was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay and the bed was comfortable and breakfast was excellent - even if the restaurant was a bit like a market with so many guests!

Great locationPosted Jun 21, 2014
Great location right on the U. of Edinburgh campus. Go in one direction and you can hike near lakes and craigs, go the other direction and you can walk to the Royal Mile in 25 minutes or faster by convenient busses. Converted dorm rooms very comfortable with nice in-room bathroom. Breakfast so-so in campus cafeteria.

our room was at the side of the hotel so was nice and quiet. room was compact but ok ,bathroom was a wet room so you just stepped into the shower, breakfast was self service and you could eat as much as you wanted as was the meal we had at night. food was very good
