Great location

Right on Princes Street. Wonderful check in assistant who couldn't do enough for us following some devastating personal news. Her compassion and understanding was a credit to the hotel.

Nice hotel in the city

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Value for money -- comfortable, clean, near Edinburgh Waverly Station
Location: The hotel is located right in the heart of the city, very near the Scottish National Gallery and shops.
I stayed here for two nights. Reception staff were friendly; room is clean, comfortable bed; our bathroom newly renovated. Our room had a view of the old part of the city -- beautiful at night. It's also a straightforward, short walk to the bus stations where a number of tour busses depart. A stone's throw away from the Scottish National Galleries and Princes Gardens. I had a great stay!

Nice hotel perfect location

The hotel is on the main street perfect location for bars, restaurants, the castle and buses. The bus to the zoo goes from right outside and bus to the airport 2 mins walk away from the hotel . Rooms have lovely view of the scott monument and the castle. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Good Location

Posted Mar 30, 2015
The best thing about this hotel is the location. On the plus side, the breakfast was good, the room was clean and comfortable. On the minus side, the lounge is shabby and when we asked if we might have a room facing the front we were told we would be charged extra.

Mecure princes St Edinburgh

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: Excellent value for money. Windows which opened .Close proximity to transport around the city.
Cons: Took two days to rectify the problem with my shower.
Location: Close proximity to transport with all day pass on the local buses around Edinburgh and surrounds .
Had chosen this Mecure hotel for the sheer convenience to the Waverly Station, travelling up from London. It was in an position in a main Princes Street ,very convenient to all of the main shopping areas but more importantly for me close to all forms of transport around the city. I decided not to upgrade and was delighted with my choice as the room was situated in the back of the hotel so no traffic noise and had a window which I was able to open. Breakfast was buffet but substantial and included in the room tariff. I did have an initial problem with my shower but was rectified on the second day. Great value for money . Would highly recommend this hotel for travellers.

Nice hotel but a bit tired.

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: The staff and position.
Cons: The rooms could definitely do with updating.
Location: very central for everything.
Enjoyed the stay and found the staff very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good. Expensive for the poor state of rooms.

Good location, view and affordable

Posted Mar 5, 2015
We stayed here for 2 nights just passed & were amazed with the quality of the room we were given for the price we paid. Right on Princes Street, close to all the amenities and our room overlooked the castle. For the hotel being situated right in the heart of the centre, we heard no noise from outside, it was very peaceful! Would definitely stay here again!
