Basic hotel, close to the shopping centrePosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: The pool could be open and the breakfast cheaper (£13.99) for a buffet breakfast.
Location: Location is good for shopping.
Hotel is basic but clean. Ok for a short stay. Great if you want Togo shopping.

No Elevator; No Air Con Not Worth ItPosted Oct 14, 2013
The hotel was not as close to the Edinburgh airport as we had been led to believe. The hotel had no elevator, and no air conditioning. The room was stifling hot. The check-in staff (females) helped us take our suitcases up the stairs. At check-out, the male manager watched me and our 70+ travelling companion struggle with our luggage without offering any help.

Knock it down and start afreshPosted Oct 2, 2013
Terrible gym, reached by walking through pool area (shoe covers provided but not used by anybody I saw). Ancient, dangerous equipment, poor flooring. Overall a very dated hotel charging an unjustifiable amount. Stayed in another mercure the following night worth twice as much but charging half.

A pleasant ,clean and hospitable hotelPosted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: The welcome, the ambience, the facilities and of course the lovely food
Cons: Didn;t experience anything untoward in the 2 nights During our short stay nothing was untoward.
Location: The location was great with easy access to shopping and road networks.
I booked the hotel randomly, as we needed an hotel during our travel to Edinburgh to take our son to Uni. Our stay was so nice we didn't mind the 16 mile trip to Livingstone. We will not hesitate to use it any time in the future we come to beautiful Scotland.

Hotel close to airportPosted Aug 17, 2013
Cons: Eoom comfort
Location: Airport 20 min, shopping center and supermarket 5 min (by car).
The hotel is a good place to spend the night before heading to airport. 20 min ride to airport. Looks kind of old though.

very poor valuePosted Aug 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
the hotel rooms are in desperate need of renovation, the curtains could not be closed properly as the runners were broken, the only chair in the room had ripped fabric and the stuffing was coming out, stains on the carpets etc. The "pool" is minuscule more of a large tub, not possible to swim in!

I think that the benefits of this hotel outweighs the distance to drive in to Edinburgh for the attractions! Breakfast was wonderful each day and the kids loved the pool.
