Nice affordable placePosted Sep 7, 2014
Excellent staff--really friendly and helpful. A nice place to stay and affordable. And really close to Haymarket station (on bus and tram line) which was great.

Good LocationPosted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Transportation convenience
Cons: Kettle etc for room use after late night or morning.
Location: The location was handy to all forms of transportation.
I choose My Edinburgh Life because it was next to the Haymarket Rail Stn, Tram and Airport Bus stops. Unfortunately I didn't receive checking in instructions prior to my departure but never the mind things worked out reasonably well. I arrived early expecting to store luggage and return later but the excellent reception lady saw my bedraggled look and hurried my check-in. My room unfortunately was on the top floor but my luggage was wisked up but never did look forward to climbing all those stairs. This was my fault for not informing the hotel of my climbing problems. My room was big and perhaps needed a bit of a sprucing up i.e. window coverings but over-all quite adequate, Never did get the TV to work but didn't expect to spend my time watching it anyway. I did miss however a kettle for coffee etc. Continental breakfast was great as were all the staff. At the end of my 3 day stay my luggage was brought down and left after a very satisfactory stay.

Great location - reasonable ratesPosted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location!! As well as an affordable price which is hard to find in Edinburgh during the festival.
Cons: Breakfast service. Food is good, continental fare. But seating is very limited, and it's not particularly relaxing in the morning!
Location: You can walk to most anything you want to see in 20 to 30 minutes, except Holyrood. And cabs are always available but expensive.
From airport to check-in literally less than 30 minutes. Right at Haymarket Station - taxis galore if you don't want to walk. 10 to 15 minutes from Princes Street Gardens - 25 minutes to Castle. Very comfortable room - altho' small. Breakfast is certainly adequate - but getting it is like a fire drill. Seating was limited and it is crowded. That's really the only negative.

Good location for Edinburgh and public transportPosted Aug 11, 2014
Good location, relaxed environment. No free parking in vicinity. We stayed in the family basement room, very cramped for 3 of us but ok. I would recommend.

Not really a hotelPosted Aug 7, 2014
Cons: Better beds, a reception desk and a proper breakfast room
Location: Excellent location for Haymarket
We were so disappointed in this hotel that we did not stay a second night although we had paid for it. It was more like a hostel, with no reception, a bed so hard we gor no sleep, breakfast served in a kitchen, squashed into a table with everyone else. Very disappointing all round.

so near the train stationPosted Jul 8, 2014
excelent location, lovely place to stay, only down side work ongoing at the time of visit meant carrying bags up and down three flights of stairs .. maybe a problem for some people ...but that would not stop me staying here on future visits
