Bed clean and comfy, staff helpful and friendly. However very much in need of tlc, decor and carpets in main area really need updating. Bathroom smelt of damp, but functional. We only needed a bed for one night so really only for sleeping in. Bar area needed refurbishing but adequate choice of drinks.

Quiet clean hotel, small beds in twin roomPosted Feb 18, 2014
Quiet, clean hotel, very small beds in twin room, staff are friendly on the rare occasion they're spotted. Located in the newer and more high street part of town, go to old town for food and drink. Photos supplied by hotel are accurate.

Never AgainPosted Dec 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was clean apart from the spider in the drawer. There was a funny smell in the corridors. Thankfully I was only there 2 nights won't be staying there again.

I enjoyed my stay in the Ritz Hotel. The staff are good. The cleanliness very good . I would say I missed breakfast . I would pay a little more for this convenience.

Nice little hotelPosted Nov 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very nice little hotel, and can have no complaints! Got it on a very good deal, and so didn't have huge expectations considering the price paid, but the room did and had everything you'd want. The bed was on the soft side to my liking, but that's not a huge issue. A great location (5-10 mins walk from the end of Princes Street), and staff on reception 24hrs. Thanks!

Okay for one nightPosted Nov 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is alright, but there is a lot of potential for improvement. To start with, the room was quite cold. There is no central heating in the hotel, but there are electirc radiators in all rooms. My friend's radiator didn't work and she was freezing at night and couldn't really sleep. In the bathroom, there is a heating which doesn't really deserve the name. It is like a hairdryer on the wall which blows warm air into the room. You can't really keep a constant temperature in the bathroom. It is either very cold or full of warm, dry air. The windows need to be changed, they let a lot of cold air go through. The curtains are very dirty and filthy, I didn't feel comfortable touching them, some parts of the curtains fall apart. The bed should also be changed, it didn't seem very stable. What was positive about the hotel was the price, nice staff, quite room, comfortable mattress and a good breakfast with fresh fruits, joghurt, toast, cereals, different juices. But again, the breakfast room was unfortunately quite cold. The room was clean so far and any tourist attraction can easily be reached by foot.

poor condition of the hotelPosted Oct 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Oooooold beds, rooms and everything. I could hear people talking on the street with windows closed. Not very nice experience but good rate.

need good renovation!Posted Oct 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The place is old and very badly maintained. Need good renovation - awful marks on wallpaper, bathroom with wholes, furniture is old and you can't really use it, safe didn't work, shower didn't have pressure... Will not recommend the place!!!
