Accommodation on the Royal milePosted Nov 12, 2013
We were pleasantly surprised by e penthouse allocated to us. The view was breathtaking, especially we arrived on the night they had the fireworks festival. The staff, Chris, was very helpful given that we had a very heavy suitcase and there was no lift up to the 5 the storey penthouse. Will stay again next time.

Apartment in the middle of the cityPosted Oct 30, 2013
We chose this apartment because of its location and we weren't disappointed. The apartment was a private residence located within the city centre. It was down the road and around the corner from the reception. The apartment was a little old, but very comfortable and included a washing machine which was very important after 2 weeks of being on the road (even though it took us 30 mins to work out how to use it). I liked the idea of seeing what it was like to live as the locals might live in Edinburgh. Free wifi was great. But this place was all about the location..

Cozy in the heart of EdinburghPosted Sep 27, 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Edinburgh. The staff was very helpful providing information for our late check in and our apartment was perfect! Spacious and spotless and tastefully decorated, within a few minutes walk of the Royal Mile. Our only minor complaint is that we could never get the dryer function on our washer/dryer to work. But overall we were exceptionally pleased with our stay and grateful for the kind attention of the staff. A lovely place!

Being right on miracle mile was great, staff was great except the accessibility to them was limited.

Great place in the heart of it all! The rooms smaller than photos suggest and 3rd floor walk up on spiral stairs challenging, but we enjoyed it. Thanks to the helpfully staff, it was fine & would suggest to friends.

Great apartment, stone's throw from the castle.Posted Aug 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Helpful staff - had the apartment ready early for us which was a bonus. Thoughtful touches like w.up liquid, w. powder, etc. The open plan living room was a little small but we barely spent any time in it anyway! Great place to stay for the Festival, will stay again.

Better suited for longer term stay - not 1 nightPosted Jul 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our plan was to have one night in Edinburgh before heading to the airport. The apartment was a good layout. We liked the sleeping arrangements for our family of 4. The bathrooms and linens seemed clean, but the furniture was questionable. Accessibility was an issue. We did not like that the carpark was so far away (outside pedestrian zone obviously) and that it was quite the climb up a tight spiral staircase to the apartment. We ended up leaving our luggage in our car and just grabbed the overnight essentials. Chris was very friendly, but rushed our check in. No assistance given to get upstairs or settled. The apartment had no AC or fans and it was hot. We opened the windows to get some air, but the noise from the busy street below made it tough to sleep. The windows are very old and even when closed all street noise could be heard. There was quite a bit of noise through the night with garbage collections, restaurant deliveries, bar patrons etc. We were very close to the attractions which made it easier for our tight time frame. In the end as we were a young family looking for a quiet relaxing stay before air travel, this did not meet our needs. I would recommend Stay if you are enjoy the nightlife are a heavy sleeper and you travel light.

Great self contained apartment in EdinburghPosted Jul 21, 2013
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Access to apartments on higher levels difficult due to spiral staircase.
Location: Situated right on Royal Mile. Close to railway station. However no parking and long walk to and from parking station.
The apartment was very central being right on the Royal Mile with entry off St James' Court. It is very close to the railway station and there is a little convenience store next door. There is no parking and parking in a parking station near by cost $24 per day. Entry is via a spiral staircase and carrying heavy bags up and down was difficult. Definitely not for the elderly or incapicated. However, once in the unit it was well appointed.

Not Quite What We ExpectedPosted Jul 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stay Edinburgh City Apartments was just OK, and not quite what we expected. It did not look like the picture on their web site. We had flat #5, and we expected the stairs, so they weren’t a surprise. The management was very attentive and helpful. The kitchen was large, bright, clean, and well appointed. The bathroom was also quite large by UK standards and it was clean and well appointed as well. The beds were very comfortable and clean. What we didn’t expect was the rather dingy living room. It was dark and the couch and chairs were quite dirty. Also there was an odd odour that they were covering up with one of those mega room deodorizers that plug into the electrical outlet. The living room area is definitely in need of renovation.
