Edinburgh stay, 9 days.

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: See experience.
Cons: A few more kitchen tools such as a garlic press that actually works. Try the IKEA model.
Location: Haymarket area of Edinburgh is centrally located with pubs, shops, restaurants, supermarket, plus is a major train, tram, b station for onward travel.
Checked in after long flights from Vancouver-London-Edinburgh. Staff helpful, expedient, and friendly. Used staff as local info resource for services. Our room was quiet and efficient. We purchased locally and prepared our meals in the kitchen. Centrally located for walking about to see the city and enjoy the architecture. Check out was as efficient and expedient as check in.

Edinburgh

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: Clean stylish and comfortable and great location
Cons: plug in bath didn't really fit and we couldn't find it for starters No subdued lighting in rooms, all a bit stark ceiling lighting
Location: Easy access for shops and restaurants and walking distance from centre of Edinburgh
We were upgraded to a town house next to the canal which was fabulous.

Farther away than described, rooms look spacious on the website but when we got there it was very cramped

Great location and a fantastic price.

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: The location, the size - I was there with my 2 teenage kids.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: I only stayed one night and left early but it is so close to the City centre, you can't get better.
I was only staying one night as I had an early flight in the morning but will stay longer next time.

Business trip

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: This is a spacious apartment, nicely designed, not far away from the city centre
Cons: there were problems with finding good place to use two laptops - some desks would make sense in the apartment
Location: we happened to see Festival Fireworks through our windows which was an extraordinary experience
There are problems with receiving an official invoice for the hotel payment. The document we received so-called 'itinerary' might be better called an 'invoice' as it is the invoice that is usually officially recognized.

Very good hotel for family stay

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Cons: Reception staff can be a bit more friendly.
Location: Very close to a Tesco and around 10 minutes walk to Old Town.
Initially we were given a very small 2 bed apartment for a group of 5 but manager kindly managed to shift us to one of the larger apartments which had very good views.

Good facilities and pleasing staff

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Location: you have to get closer to city center to do anything fun.
Good facilities. Staff and accommodating of guest needs and are pleasant... The location, while decently connected by pubic transport, is not in an upmarket neighborhood. So, don't expect much of Edinburgh around here.

Nice apartment close to the Edinburgh castle

Good location, close to castle and many shops and restaurant. the room is ok but not as clean as we expected. The twin bed is too small for a adult man.

Great hotel in Edinburgh

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Well maintained and quiet
The StayCity Apartments in Edinburgh are pretty newly constructed, so in very good shape. Our unit had a full kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, fridge etc) as well as a dining/sitting area and comfortably slept 2 adults and 2 teenage boys. The staff was incredibly helpful, both with advice about the city and with the hotel itself. When we asked about nearby laundry service, they switched us to a new unit that had a washer/dryer. The only drawback is the location - it is a bit out of the way from the city center (about a 20min brisk walk with a good climb up to the Royal Mile). There are bus stops nearby and taxis are reasonably cheap, so one can get around. The neighborhood was quiet and had several stores, restaurants and cafes, but definitely lacked the activity of the city centre.
