Elegant hotel ideally placed for visiting EdinburgPosted Mar 3, 2014
Cons: Interior decoration rather dull.
Location: Central Edinburg. You can walk to most of the cultural, historic and shopping activities.
Classic grande dame in modern dress. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Disappointed with cleanliness!Posted Feb 24, 2014
This was to be the first trip away since the birth of our first child. The hotel looks lovely and the staff are friendly and polite. My only gripe was the fact that when turning down the bed at 10PM we discovered the sheets were stained!! Given the price you pay for a night you would expect better. Given the time of night we didn't complain but slept on towels. You may also find the rooms on the first floor noisy as they are above a nightclub/pub. I would stay again but would check the bed cleanliness earlier so any issues could be addressed at a more sociable hour.

BeautifulPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: The Staff, room service, food, drinks I'll sum it up with EVERYTHING.
Cons: Maybe a bit of the room interior.
Location: At the heart of Edinburgh, perfect.
I am a very frequent traveler, an average of two trips per month and 3-7 nights per month at hotels. I stayed at the Balmoral for 5 days and I have to say, the Service was absolutely brilliant, probably the best hotel service ever. The house keeping, room service, concierge, the bar, the in-hotel restaurant they are all amazing. Very classical, simple rooms. A bit noisy though with the main city st near by.

the hotel in right in the middle of the city and is only a short walk from all the areas we wanted to visit. Go to the main information centre next door for details on tickets and tours.

The Balmoral is in the perfect location.Posted Jan 3, 2014
Pros: The location and the feel of the Scotish highlands.
Cons: They need to sort out the speed of seating people for breakfast. Also would of been nice to have complimentary tea and coffee in room.
Location: Very central, walking distance to shopping and to the Castle.
To experience Edinburgh with the great hospitality of Scotland and the luxury of a 5 star Hotel, you have to stay at the Balmoral. Location is fantastic.
