Out-of-the-way gemPosted Oct 15, 2013
Pros: Tidy little room overlooking the road and canal, could watch the ducks at play.
Cons: They had been working on the WiFi problem and surely will have it fixed shortly, but it did make me rack up a lot of data against my plan.
Location: Right near the airport. Walk along the canal, take pleasure cruise (the Inn had some kind of catered lunch cruise on offer). Neat old buildings too.
Found this place quite by accident, just a small inn (say, six rooms?) atop a pub/restaurant. Knew that I was onto something when everyone at the airport and cabbies would ask if I were off to a special lunch or dinner when I gave my destination. The owners did a complete renovation a couple of years ago, everything is in fine condition except for the WiFi which was out of order during my entire stay. Ultra-friendly staff and locals in the pub, where I had to eat on Saturday as there was no table to be had in the dining room (menu was the same, couldn't complain at all).

Great hotel close to the airport.Posted Oct 3, 2013
Pros: Convenience to the airport, friendly staff, great food.
Cons: Rooms are a bit small, but clean, wonderfully updated bathrooms.
Location: Canal path to walk, lots of activities in the summer. Many hotels in Edinburgh say they're "airport hotels", but this really was.
Beautifully updated Inn, close to the airport without the airplane noise. Wonderful staff, dining room, and a serene canal path to walk and get outdoors.

"Bryce" may or may not be for you...Posted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: Location, friendly restaurant staff, attractive rooms & public areas. One of the few Scottish inns/B&Bs to provide washcloths. Dinner was also good.
Cons: Reception is a little confusing--we ended up just dragging our bags into the pub and waiting for someone to notice us there.
Location: BP gas station nearby. The towpath is on the opposite side of the canal and offers a walk.
We stayed one night, prior to a flight out of Edinburgh Airport. The location is quite close with no airport noise. The room (Bryce) is set apart from the other three rooms, so it's very quiet in that regard as well, but it gets some road noise in the mornings since the bridge traffic light is right outside. If you're not an early riser, you may also be awoken by the morning cleaning crew in the lounge/pub downstairs. You can certainly see a portion of the canal, but I have to imagine that there are better views from other rooms. The room itself is on the small side, but the bed is very tall (high enough to stow our carry-on suitcases beneath it) and there's a smallish closet and dresser for storage. The bathroom has a huge drench shower, with nice towels and toiletries. A cooked-to-order breakfast is included (coffee and tea are also included, even though there's a fee listed on the menu for these beverages). We both had scrambled eggs with a huge portion of smoked salmon. There's a buffet with juice, fresh fruit, muesli, cereal, yogurt, and a selection of jams. Toast is made with good bread from the local bakery. Restaurant service was very friendly. Stairs are carpeted and a bit narrow for guests with large bags but we had no trouble with two fairly bursting carry-ons. For the price we paid, it seemed a reasonable, but I might try a different room for the view.

Location: Walk into Edinburgh by the side of the the canal.
Lovely location right by the canal, 10 minutes drive from Edinburgh Airport (but not on flightpath). Perfect room with huge bed.

Hotel with character, close to the airport.Posted Sep 28, 2013
I arrived just after 9 pm but luckily for me, they kept the kitchen open so that I was able to have a lovely supper washed down with a pint of real ale. The bedroom was very comfortable and the breakfast was first class. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Pros: Clean and comfortable.
Location: Near Edinburgh and Edinburgh airport.
We only stayed one night and had to leave early in the morning but the room was very clean and comfortable. Staff carried our bags upstairs and were very courteous. Would definitely stay again.

Scottish Inn CharmPosted Sep 9, 2013
Location: Only 10 minutes from the airport.
The Bridge Inn for me was the perfect Scottish Inn Country charm experience! Everything from the warm welcome I received and the staff who went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable and memorable. The room was stunning with 5 star hotel amenities, and a bed that was so comfortable that I didn't want to get up! The breakfast that is included was excellent and would put any 5 star hotel to shame. Everything from the freshly squeezed orange juice to the sausages and bacon that are made there at the Inn. I think even the chickens are out back laying the eggs! Overall a fantastic stay and I only wish I had more that one night there!

Gastronomic DelightsPosted Aug 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
We arrived at the hotel that was located right on the canal side. The location was really nice even if it was a bit off the beaten track to get to.The room was adequate and comfortable while the ensuite was finished to a high standard, the downside with the room was the beige carpets looked as if they had been trampled with dirty shoes and could really have done with a good clean. We had an evening meal but were dubious on the prices, that was until the food arrived. It was beautifully presented, plentiful and cooked to perfection and was a taste sensation. I had the sticky toffee pudding to follow, this was a problem however..... one piece was just not enough it was so delicious!! The breaskfast was as well presented and plentifull as the evening meal, the chef even smoked his own salmon fresh because they had run out and my wife wanted salmon.

Close to Edinburgh Airport and Exquisite DinningPosted Aug 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was fresh and lovely. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and would rival most 5 star restaurants. I had the lamb rump which was not only delectable but presented beautifully. The care that went into each and every dish was presented with the utmost artistic quality. I would highly recommend this hotel that is less than 2 miles from the airport. The bus stop is in front of the parking lot that will easily take you to Edinburgh.
