“High quality centrally located hotel”

The hotel layout is a little eccentric and takes a little time to get use to. Room layout great, spacious every thing you could need, mini bar prices reasonable! Bathroom very well designed and love the underfloor heating. Turn down and free bottled watter for everyone. Could have done with a more traditional bar although they did have drinks available. The snug area was very cosy. Very central location very near to the train station and within walking distance of all shopping areas. Bars and restaurants very close.

A wonderful hotel with first class service. Nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is very central and Princes St is literally a 3 minute walk.

“Nice - Edinburgh June 2010”

After reading the reviews, I expected it to be nice, and it was. I was extremely pleased with my stay and would definitely stay here again. I stayed in a regular room (non-suite), but it was really nice and cozy. Love the dark wood everywhere and the extremely comfortable bed. I wish I had a bed at home like that one. The balcony was a serene and quiet place to relax in the evenings before dinner. The service was perfect. The young lady at the front desk was great and gave me many choices to eat. She printed out menus from various restaurants and had them sent to my room. Overall, I give it an A+.

“Excellent Hotel”

A perfect tranquil oasis in a bustling city. Ideally situated just on the edge of the new and old town areas. The staff are extremely helpful and in particular William the doorman. The standard room is quite large for a city and very sumptuous. My only critcism would be the cost of the breakfast, which although good doesn't justify the price.

Request a room on the top floor with access to the roof garden - it was a great surprise with a pretty view.

From the moment we stepped through the door we were looked after. As a boutique hotel, the reception is a little different, but the welcome very warm and friendly and the assistance was great. We loved the roof garden and the "honesty bar". All of the staff we encountered, from chamber maids, waiting staff to management were courteous, friendly without being over familiar and obviously well trained. Just a shame we only stayed the one night, but we will definitely return!

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The hotel staff is over the top friendly and helpful! Perfect location for visiting Edinburgh - no need for a car from this location!

I have stayed in this hotel twice - once with my dister and once with my husband and they both loved it too. The modern decor is a lovely surprise in the midst of all that Edinburgh history, and the staff is very attentive.

“Beautiful, modern hotel in a great location”

The hotel staff could not have been nicer or more helpful at this lovely, modern hotel. The executive suite room was not enormous by American standards, but it was meticulously clean and very thoughfully set up. The bathroom had a wonderful tub and stall shower, and the room had a wonderful balcony. Just down the hall was The Snug, a sitting area with an honor bar and fireplace. This is a fantastic place to stay!
