Great base of operations to see Edinburgh

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Apartment concept great for non-posh travel. Well designed and comfortable. Excellent location (despite the minor "red-light district" noted by others
Cons: Bed not particularly comfortable, not bad but a small investment here would be a big deal
Location: Easy access to Uni and most every downtown location. Plus one has the Jesuits next door!
Very good hotel/apartment concept. Best if one plans for it. We expected a "typical" hotel. Here you get a mini-flat: kitchen, clothes washer-dryer, DVD player with extensive collection, etc.

Delightful and friendly

Excellent stay. Welcome pack of coffee, tea, bread milk and cereals very handy, though for more there is a mini Sainsbury's almost on doorstep. Nice to have a bit more room than usually found in a conventional hotel

Excellent apartment in the centre of Edinburgh

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Location is very central, spotlessly clean, a real home from home.
Cons: Better quality double glazing would be appreciated. Apartment is close to a few bars and you can occasionally hear people on the street outside.
Location: Very central for most things.
Lovely apartment representing excellent value for money. Location is very central for both Prince's street and a variety of bars and restaurants. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Apartment is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Very well equipped kitchen including dishwasher. Thoughtful details such as welcome pack with essential, take away menus etc. Spacious living room with TV, DVD player, stereo and selection of CDs. A DVD library was available with a massive selection to choose from (which we used). Fast Wifi. Lovely bedroom with very comfortable king sized bed. Really nice apartment, would not hesitate to recommend and book again.

Nice hotel walking distance to Old Town.

The Knight Residence is much more than a hotel and perfect if you need a home away from home. The immaculate units all have a full kitchen so if you don't feel like eating out you can easily stay in prepare a meal yourself. The hotel is located walking distance from Grassmarket and a few more steps (albeit mostly uphill) will see you in Old Town at Edinburgh Castle or on the Royal Mile. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful.

Stylish and comfortable

Pros: The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you.
Cons: Great value for money but I would be willing to pay a little bit more if some of the furnishings were more luxurious.
We stayed as a group of four friends in a two bedroom apartement. From the moment that we booked we were impressed with the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. They answered our questions quickly and knowledgeably, via email, about the local area and apartment facilities. On arrival we were shown round the apartment and the staff gave their time happily to help with anything at all. The breakfast welcome pack was fabulous; a great range of quality products. There is a Sainsburys Local round the corner too for purchasing any food but, equally, it is close to a wide range of bars and restaurants. We all found the apartments well equipped, comfortable and stylish. I would highly recommend the apartments for anyone visiting Edinburgh.

lovely flat - A real home from home

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: The best of hotel convenience and home comforts . The staff Unexpected extras- lovely teddy and colouring pack
Cons: At a pinch. hooks by the front door for coats and on back of bedroom doors for bathrobes. Everything else had been though of, including cafetiere
Location: Very central Lovecrumb-coffee shop by bookshop on corner had super cakes and hot drinks
Brilliant stay lovely flat, very clean and luxurious. Bathrobes for everyone - even an unexpected 5th guest who stayed free of charge on the very comfortable sofa bed The flat had all mod cons & welcome hamper thrown in for luck! Did I say it was clean? We found it very comfortable, stayed in on sofa as a family and watched a film. We really enjoyed the privacy of being able to shut your own front door (with our name on it- nice touch). We also enjoyed all the benefits of an excellent concierge service. The staff were faultless -really excellent
