More 'hostel' than hotel, rather disappointing and not great value. We booked 2 nights, double room in the Linton Hotel and were very disappointed. It's a good job we didn't bring our cat as the room (room 5) certainly didn't have room to swing it! There was hardly space to get into bed and no bedside cabinet on one side. This wasn't a double room, just a small single with a double bed squeezed in. I would estimate the room to be less than half that of an average Travelodge or Premier Inn room. That said, the bed was comfortable and the room quiet. The en-suite was cold being at the end corner of the building and there was no shampoo /soap etc. (We had to ask and even then just got 2 small bars of soap). Towels were provided which were of good quality and size. The TV worked but the remote didn't so we couldn't find a way to adjust the volume. We did ask for this to be fixed in the morning but apparently (we were told) the staff were too busy with a funeral to get it sorted and the handyman wasn't available all day. Breakfast was basic and not well cooked. Fried sausages were hardly cooked and not good quality, quality of the bacon and tomatoes was also 'basic', though they were cooked okay. Haggis and white pudding were very poor imitations of the real thing. There is an award winning butchers in the village - Why not use them? There were only four other people in the dining room hence no excuse for the food not being cooked properly. We had expected better.

Stayed here on my way to the Museum of Flight the next day as it’s only a couple of miles away. Managed to park in front of hotel but there is no actual car park. Would have had to have found a street parking space otherwise. Room was comfortable & food was good. Staff were very helpful throughout. Reasonable price considering it’s not too far from Edinburgh

The room was very small, too small for two people and a dog. We were very lucky with the parking but there were no designated spaces. The food was good, we had evening meal and breakfast, the staff were excellent. Just disappointed with the room, maybe we got the last one.

Road trip to Edinburgh.
We had a very comfortable stay at the Linton hotel. We weren’t hungry when we arrived so asked if we could just have pudding and a pint which was greatly appreciated, homemade and delicious. Lovely breakfast in the morning too. Just outside of Edinburgh, perfect for our onward journey.

Nice little Hotel
East Linton is a lovely village in East Lothian. The hotel has nice rooms, ours had a super king bed and overlooked the lovely gardens. The room was nicely decorated and clean, but a little cramped. Breakfast was lovely, but 7.30-8.30 is early when on relaxing break.

I actually enjoyed my stay, the food was excellent and the staff were very courteous. Something homely about the bar/restaurant and property in general. I would definitely stay again. The only negatives being picky would be a few cobwebs, the shower was warm but very poor pressure, would be enough to put some people off. Overall not bad at all.

The hotel staff were so helpful and down to earth and the manager Sara was exceptional .She had a lovely manner and nothing was a problem for her.Relaxing family felt atmosphere. The room was basic and clean exception was the carpet it was a little tired.

Our room was possibly the tiniest hotel room I have ever stayed in. There was a 12-18" space down either side of the bed. We put our bags on the floor at the end of the bed but had to step over them to move around the room. The door hit off the end of the bed when open so only one person could leave the room at a time, a but like using a cattle gate when hiking. There was a tiny TV perched on an equally tiny & ancient table and the tray containing the kettle & teacups overhung the edge of the table which didn't look too safe. The water pressure in the shower amounted to a small dribble. The staff were very nice and we enjoyed our dinner & breakfast in the restaurant. The bar area looked nice too. Although the room price was very low, it would have been better to have known about the size of the room before booking and we would have probably looked elsewhere. The photos feature lots of close-ups which give no indication of the size of the room and are quite misleading.

Only stayed the one night but was great. Arrived late & no issue with check in or anything which was good. Family room had loads of space, beds were comfy & the staff who took care of us were really welcoming. Decent pint in the bar as well 😁
