Love, love, love Tigerlilly.

Pros: Beautiful and well appointed rooms.
Cons: Noisy bottles being out in bins across the street in the middle of the night - not the hotel's fault though!
Hotel was beautiful, well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. Comfy beds, great location. Don't bring a car if you can help it, no hotel parking and street parking VERY expensive.

Great hotel for couples

Pros: The room was extremely comfortable, the bed was big and very soft, the bathroom was massive. Staff were brilliand and breakfast very tasty.
Cons: The dental and shaving kits were not 'free' or included in the fee we had paid for the room. As a given, this should be included in the room cost.
Favourite things about this hotel: The room was extremely comfortable, the bed was big and very soft, the bathroom was massive. Staff were brilliand and breakfast very tasty. The least favourite things: The fact that the dental and shaving kits were not 'free' or included in the fee we had already paid for the room, especially considering we were staying in the Luxury category. We had to pay £3 at the end of our stay for using toothpaste, and as a given, these small touches should be included in the cost of the room. The hotel bar was very busy at night, almost like a nightclub. It just felt a bit overcrowded. But it makes sense, as it was a very nice bar and extremely central location.

Gorgeous hotel, great staff, central to everything

Pros: Location, huge room, comfy beds
Cons: The lighting system, which probably required a teen to work it!!
Location: Central, West End, close to shops and restaurants
We arrived to find the lift out of order, but Richard the concierge sprang into action and heroically lugged our bags up the stairs. It was fixed the next day, so no dramas there. The hotel is in a great location - five minutes walk (if that) from Princes Street shops and with loads of bars and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. The bars were lively every evening - even Monday - and we had dinner in the bar on our first evening, which was absolutely excellent. The rooms were beautifully furnished and the beds were just totally scrummy - really comfortable with gorgeous bed linen. Great bathroom with a rainwater shower and a huge cubicle, and plenty of lovely fluffly towels and yummy toiletries, which were topped up every day, as were the tea/coffee/fresh milk/complimentary bottled water. Our only (very small) comment was that the lighting works on a weird system, where you either have to have all of the lights on or off, apart from the bedside ones, which do work separately. This meant we couldn't leave a light on in the bathroom and the room was absolutely pitch black once the lights were off. Certainly not a big deal, but it clearly hadn't been thought through. We loved Tigerlily and will definitely go back if we visit Edinburgh again.

Tiger was always among the best before, but.......

This stay was'nt too bad, though the promised morning newspaper failed to appear. One week later we emailed the hotel to stay again, only to receive a reply that they were full on the date requested. Two days later we booked on the internet for same date, regular client, but they could'nt call or email to say there was in fact availability. They apologised very basically and reluctantly. This time first-floor and right above the disco-bar..... could'nt sleep till after 4am. Big disappointments, mainly on some staff attitudes. We will probably never return. Pity

Excellent location and lovely staff

We found the hotel staff very helpful and the room was lovely. We were in a room on the 1st floor though and the noise from the club below was loud until around 3am. This is my only reason for giving 4/5 rather than 5/5.

Excellent stay

Have been to this hotel before but just for drinks, love the atmosphere and the room itself was lovely, fairly big and reasonably priced. A bath was missed but a lovely large shower made up for it somewhat. Room only so did not sample the breakfast and ate out, but the menu looked good and there were some good offers on. Surrounding area is good, close to lots of shops, bars and restaurants, and 10 min walk from Wavereley station.
