"Very modern hotel right in the heart of Edinburgh"
We came for a two night stay. It was about a ten minute walk from the station, and a five minute walk from the royal mile--which is the hub of the main tourist scene. It also allowed us easy access to the tourist buses on that street. The hotel was on the small side, but very clean and with modern deco. Free cooked breakfast in the morning was a real plus! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had some minor issues with the reliability of free wifi at times, but overall I would definitely recommend anyone stay here for their first trip to Edinburgh!

"Great Hotel in superb position"
From the outset the staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Spacious, comfortable room with all facilites. Breakfast was first class with plenty of choice. We decided to eat in the Bistro for our evening meal and the mutton dish I ordered was one of the best meals I have tasted

"Spotless with a warm welcome"
Arrived at 10am to be told we had been given a room upgrade for nothing which was warmly welcomed. Reception staff and concierge very accommodating and we left our luggage with them whilst we went out to explore the city which wasn't a problem. Room was spotlessly clean, however the bed was way to soft for our liking. We slept reasonably well albeit we were at the front of the hotel and by 6am in the morning it got very noisy outside with the traffic going past the window. Breakfast is treated with military precision, as you arrive the staff talk to one another through personal radios and you are greeted by someone who takes you to your table, there isn't anything more you could want for on the menu, full English (of is it Scottish?), cereals, fruit, cold buffet etc. The waiters and waitresses go about their business with beaming smiles and nothing is too much trouble for them.

"First class central city hotel"
On arrival we received a very helpful welcome, not to mention 2 free glasses of champagne as it was our anniversary. Very nice quiet room. Breakfast was amazing. Very nice food and cheerful efficient staff. Only minor quibbles were that we didn't get much tea and coffee at a time in our room but had no problem getting more. Also the pool was nice but freezing cold. Wonderful location with the city centre and public transport links within walking distance. Would highly recommend and return if in Edinburgh again.

"Most comfortable bed EVER in opulent surroundings"
Almost felt like celebrities with the opulent surroundings and the flawless attention from the impossibly beautiful staff. The room was spacious, equipped with everything one could wish for and the general ambience of the hotel and its surroundings were second to none. The bed was by far the most comfortable that either of us had ever slept in. Excellently located, its vast capacity was disguised by a modest facade. Would highly recommend this hotel for groups embarking upon a weekend in Edinburgh for its location, facilities and beautiful rooftop garden which would make an excellent meeting place for friends.
