Nice clean hotel but no AC

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Everything was good, clean and respectable except no AC and the room was very hot. Had a fan that ran all night but did not cool off room at all. It was so hot and dry my daughter was awake at 6am with a bloody nose....sorry but won't go back or recommend.

Nice downtown location.

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: It overlooks the River Valley. plus is within walking distance to many downtown facilities.
Location: Very central with the art gallery, the Winspear Center, the Citadel Theatre and shopping within walking distance.
An older hotel but with many renovations done and in progress. Clean throughout with friendly, helpful staff.

Nothing Fancy

Posted Feb 21, 2015
As far as this hotel goes the experience was nothing amazing. The room was quite outdated, we went for supper in the cafe and it wasn't great. The staff is nice, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's a bit over priced for what it really is.

Romantic Getaway

We had a room overlooking the river valley. Nice view. Comfortable bed. Basic hotel room. I like their lotions etc. that are sourced locally. Lobby had been nicely updated. At at lounge and had an amazing steak!

Too expensive for nothing

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Nice room but.. No pool, everything closes early, chambermaid walked right into our room at 9am, bar closed at 11???, the phone charger in the room is for a 4 ( who has a 4 anymore) and we had to pay $15 for parking on top of a $200 plus room. Like really?? Not worth the cash.

Pluses and Minuses

Posted Feb 13, 2015
Pros: South-facing rooms have a nice view of the river valley. Overall it's in relatively good condition.
Cons: 1) Update the tv system to something out of the '90's. 2) Fix anything broken or not working e.g. sink stoppers that don't stop, etc.
Location: It's downtown Edmonton. There's not much of anything. The only reason to stay there is if you have to work nearby.
All things considered this is a decent hotel worth the rate they charge. There wasn't anything worthy of me wanting to check out or anything.

Great low price for such a good hotel

Posted Feb 12, 2015
The staff are warm and cooperative. My room was quiet and very well taken care of. The taxi I ordered the night before was right on time very early the next morning. I was booked to have an operation the next day and the Chateau Lacombe made my evening stress free and relaxing! Thank you!

Handy central downtown location

Posted Feb 12, 2015
Pros: Central location handy to locations of offices for my meetings.
Cons: Suggest hotel investigates hot water issue. Make wifi more user friendly so that repetitive logging in is not required.
Location: There is frequently not a lot to do in the evening in Edmonton. Hotel is close to several good restaurants, theatre & arts district.
Convenient hotel with hospitable staff. It's a great experience to receive a genuinely friendly greeting from the bellman at the entrance. This time the room looked very tired and there was trouble getting hot water for a shower, which surprised me at a hotel of this size and caliber. Wifi arrangement is unusual (to me) as each time I logged onto my laptop I had to resubmit the username password to access wifi. Hotel coffee shop is very comfortable and accommodated my special request for a light breakfast (poached eggs and toast) instead of the buffet or meat-heavy menu, which I appreciated very much.
