“Very Impressive Place!”
Spent a total of 3 nights at the Metterra in July. Couldn't have been more pleased with the hotel. Very clean, very comfortable and very helpful staff! Excellent complimentary breakfast, and wine tasting in the evenings. The hotel is very accessible to restaurants and shopping. Self parking is a breeze across the street in a very secure lot.
“What a great place to stay !!!”
You are in walking distance to a variety of restaurants and pubs. I was in the theme room "air" and had a HUGE patio. Bed was very comfortable. There was a separate living room area. Bathroom is big, well lighted, and had a huge bathtub, very deep and long. Front desk very helpful. Construction on the street in front of the hotel kind of a drag, but it's about a 10 second walk to the corner where a car can pick you up, or a taxi, etc. The porter also waits there to help you with your bags. This is a very cool "funky" area of Edmonton. Wine tasting in the afternoon (free) with cheese and olives and crackers. They were a little skimpy on the wine tho, just 2 small glasses of a taste for sure. I chose to walk to a liquor store and get my own bottle instead for the 3 nights I was there. I will definately stay there my next trip, be it for business or pleasure !
“A must stay for visiting Edmonton!”
This Boutique hotel is spotless and the rooms and bed comfortable. Free winetasting every night and continental breakfast as a courtesy. Wifi and tv worked with out a problem. They do have 2 computers in there business center that are little old so better off bringing laptop. The neighborhood has so much to do. I found the staff friendly and wanting to please. You can order any food from the various eateries or the staff will do it for you. They have a wonderful cab service bringing you back to the airport which was cheaper than me getting there. I did have a rent a car for two days and they valet with out a problem. I travel alot and can honestly say this is a very nice place. Much better than staying in the larger hotel chains.
“Great value!”
Very clean room on 8th floor with a view of the city; no stains on furnishings or smoke or pet odors; bathroom was spotless, well maintained, with adequate linens and sundries. Enjoyed my stay. Was close enough to walk to conference at U of A; bus transportation nearby. Complimentary internet, continental breakfast, and wine tasting were an added plus. No problems with Wi-fi or internet service; desk chair and desk height were not ergonomic and slightly uncomfortable to use, but not impossible. Interactions with staff were attentive, kind, and helpful. Will return to the Metterra for my next visit to Edmonton to explore the sights I did not have a chance to see on this first trip.
“Quite satisfied”
Great, classy place to stay, close to excellent casual and upscale restaurants within 5 minutes of walking or less. Hip atmosphere with interesting shops along the street.
“Awsome city getaway”
We stayed at the Metterra on Whyte because we wanted to get away for our anniversary, but we didn't have alot of time so we stayed in the city. SO happy that we did! the hotel was awsome, the continental breakfast was actually filling and the location was great! So many cool unique shops close by, the farmers market ect... loved it! Would definately go back again!!
“Love this Hotel”
I go to Edmonton every 6 weeks for business and always stay here. It is a wonderful hotel and location.
“Very comfortable stay at Metterra!”
Great hotel! The room was very clean and comfortable. In fact, I've never slept in a more comfortable bed! The complementary breakfast was the perfect way to get the day started and the evening wine tasting was a pleasant surprise! We will definitely stay at the Metterra next time we are in Edmonton.
“Worth staying at”
The Mattera on Whythe is a very nice hotel with remarkable services included in the stay(breakfast, gym, internet, buisness center, and parking valet).
“Metterra Hotel was GREAT!”
We stayed at The Metterra Hotel for a week (August 10-16 2008) and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel and service. The hotel is clean, modern, and stylish and the beds are very comfortable. The location of the hotel is within walking distance to countless restaurants and shops. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Edmonton.
