Poor communication

Posted Jan 30, 2015
Pros: wifi.....thats it.
(1) Accused of having a dog in the room over night. (Never) I had a visitor with a dog for a few hours one afternoon. (2) Asked for a new tv remote because AGAIN it never worked. It never came. (4th stay here & same every time) (3) Telephone was dead the 2nd evening? I was able to retrieve a MSG left about the dog but that was all. (4) Construction was happening across the road. I should have been told and asked if I wanted a different room.

the stay at hotel was quite and staff where super

Posted Jan 24, 2015
Pros: i liked that it was very quite at night and we could watch tv during night and not disturbe our neighbours. the staff where so friendly and understan.
Cons: the tv in first room keep shutting off on us they where nice to move us to another room the tv worked good there but was an older tv ...
Location: the kingsway mall is close ...we didnt take in any of the outer stuff as we where there for medical resons and not up to adventure... next time we hop
We where in the city on medical stuff... this hotel was perfect close to the Royal Alexander Hospital and the HYS center ... easy to get to from the Ramada ... we had trouble with tv first night but the staff where great and moved us to another room where tv worked good... as we spend most of day there and not able to sleep tv helped pass the time...

Place Has Went Downhill

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Cons: cont'd on the lobby floor.... Security outside in the parking lot was poor. I was accosted by a beggar right outside the door late at night
My last previous stay was almost 10 years ago, April 2005. This past stay, Jan 2015 was "disappointing" to say the least. Carpets on the hallway floors were filthy. The rear entry doors to the conference hall need painted, badly. I had to change my room on the 12 floor to across the hall... the desk staff were oblivious to the fact that a compressor/generator across the street ran constantly ... too loud to sleep, watch TV, or read. From the 12th floor. I need to print out a document in a hurry and called down to ask if the desk could print it for me if I sent email.. absolutely not, I must use the "business center" .. the computer I was using there did not print. just queued the doc ... I was offered another one after another guest printed, but it immediately went to "the blue screen of death" .. Now I was stressed as I was on a schedule. Dawn, the reception desk on duty at time, was the most personable of any staff I dealt with. She was unable to print from her computer and needed assistance from another staff member... it took a few minutes of work between them to print two pages of a word doc. The hotel was unbearably hot the entire stay. I kept the window (small) open all the time in the room and it was still oppressive. There is no "guide" book in the room to the hotel, no listing of amenities, etc. I had to call the front desk everytime I wanted to know something, "are there vending machines"? (yes, but they weren't sure where... though I did find a vending room on

Good if you want an 80's Flashback

Cons: Updating their rooms to at least 2000 technology and decor.
The Hotel has not been updated in decades. The TV was old as heck and small. It took over an hour to get on the free WiFi. The food was okay Overall I was disappointed, very glad I did not pay full rate for the room as it is pricey for the low tech and the decor. The room was clean, well looked clean.

Decent hotel with fairly good rates

Posted Jan 20, 2015
When we checked in at the hotel, we were charged an extra damage deposit which we weren't aware of when we booked. This wasn't a big deal being that you get it back but just so anyone booking is aware. Breakfast is included each morning with your room and it's pretty good! The staff at the restaurant provides very good service and were very friendly as well :). All in all a fairly good experience and can easily get to the expo centre from this hotel!
