“great hotel”

great stay, hotels offer great rates and a comfortable stay, nice staff and clean rooms, breakfast was good as they had hot breakfast at restaurant, 2nd stay and i realy enjoyed it,

Hotel was close to the event that we wished to attend. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included with room and was plentiful.

“It works”

This Hotel is a little older. It was adequate for my needs. It was missing an ironing board, which I needed. The WIFi was free and fast. Previous reviews indicated that there were signs all around commenting about prostitution? I did not see these. What I did see were signs that prohibited solicitation, distribution and selling of merchandise or advertising. Solicitation does NOT only refer to prostitution. This was a common sign that could be found at any 5 star hotel. There was free parking. Would I stay here again? Yes, if I needed to be within 7 Minutes of what brought be to Edmonton.

“Budget place”

This was good as a very basic place. The rooms were comfortable. The free continental breakfast, available until 8:00 am, was reasonble quality; not a lot of fruit or protein items, but toast, jam, muffins, cinnamon buns and cereal. A really nice feature was that there was a good breakfast buffet available after 8:00 am and the continental breakfast coupon was good for a $5.00 discount off that buffet.

“Not Good”

I booked this room as an Expedia mystery hotel, and was not happy with it from the begining. If I wanted to stay in Edmonton there are many options much nicer than this for the same money (I was trying to stay in Sherwood Park, and yes after the fact... I looked. The map did cover this one little section of Edmonton. Live, and learn). The hotel is really not that bad. Just a bit run down, and in an older part of town. I did not feel that safety was an issue, or anything. The desk workers were helpful, and the room was clean I'll give them that. All in all I would have been happy at about half the price I paid...Again more, or less sour grapes about Expedia. I would call it a 1-1 1/2 star hotel with many better options downtown, or to the south for the same price.

“Avoid If You Can”

Nestled in one of the most uncomfortable "neighborhoods" a city can feature (see: anti-prostitution signs on every block/police warning signs in lots), this half-smoking (assuming the non-smoking hall was once smoking by the yellowed wallpaper) hotel is a spot you'd be best advised to skip. If staying in Edmonton, and if you like clean bathrooms, stay downtown, not on the East end. And not at this Travelodge!
