Central Location

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Close to the mall and shops, cheaper than the other hotels
Cons: Parking - renovations/construction look up a lot of stalls. Fix the water pressure!
Location: Mall, stores
When reading the reviews AFTER making my booking, I was a bit concerned about my selection. Turns out, everything was fine! The room was clean and the location was very close to all the places we wanted to go to. Parking is a bit tight though. And the lobby smells badly of chlorine from the pool. The elevator is a bit shaky, but if you don't like it, take the stairs. At night, there were some dodgy looking people hanging out at the entrance. Not sure what they were up to or why they were there. Once inside, you were ok. The worst part of the stay was probably the water pressure from the shower. We were on the 5th floor and the pressure was really bad. Probably could've taken a better shower with a garden watering can!

Cheap and grungy

Stained sheets, no water pressure in shower, clogged sink drain, missing light bulbs. Motel quality rooms.

Thank you for your review. I apologize that you did not enjoy your stay. We are scheduled to have a new pump installed this month which will increase the water pressure in our guest rooms. The rest of your comments are informative as well and will be brought to the attention of our maintenance and laundry staff. Thank you again for your feedback as we use your comments as tools to improve our product and service.

Nice place!

Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Apparently because we had a "child" (who is 17) we ended up in one of their "Sleepy Bear Dens" It was very amusing for all of us!
Cons: Shower flow.
Location: Nice Chinese restaurant and a Wendy's across the intersection.
Only problem we had w/ the room was the lack of pressure in the shower. We never got to tell them about the problem until we were leaving. So, we can't fault the Hotel. Pleasant, and helpful staff!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay with us at the Travelodge Edmonton West. Customer feedback is appreciated as it helps us identify our areas of opportunity. Along with you, other customers have also mentioned a lack of pressure in the shower. We have taken this into consideration and are now scheduled to have a new pump installed this month which will increase the water pressure in our guest rooms. Thank you again for your comments. We hope to see you next time you visit Edmonton!

Bare bones accommodation

Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: The value for money, and the size of the room. it provided the greatest amount of free space that I've enjoyed in a hotel in a while.
Cons: The place needs renovating quite simply.
Location: I wasn't there for this purpose so can't really comment. There were some small malls nearby and lots of places to eat and that's all i wanted.
I said I wouldn't recommend it only because there was no "middle ground." In reality, if (as I was) you are just looking for a cheap place to lay your head then it fits the bill perfectly and possibly a little more than that with a pool as well. It was good value for the money.

Thank you for your taking the time to post a review. I’m glad you found value in our product and enjoyed the service provided by our associates. Over the last year we have renovated and done major improvements to our waterpark, parking lot, and exterior of the building. We installed a brand new fitness center and just recently reopened our west tower where we renovated all of the guest rooms. Our associates are all very excited and proud of our new product and I would encourage you to stay in one of our new rooms during a future visit.

Thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. We did just renovate our west tower which included repainting of the guest rooms and hallways. The smell of paint should dissipate and be less noticeable in the future. We hope you will come back and stay with us again.

Pleasantly Surprised

Pros: The convenience to West Edmonton Mall, the Smitty's restaurant adjoining the hotel, the clean rooms, the comfortable bed.
Cons: The bathroom could use a little updating but that's just a minor consideration. By no means was it a problem.
Location: We were just there to shop at West Edmonton Mall and therefore, the location was perfect.
Read some of the reviews AFTER booking and paying for our room. Wasn't sure what to expect but as it was a last minute booking and on a long week-end, we were just happy to obtain accommodations. The room was great, check-in a breeze, and the fact that the room had a microwave, fridge, and a Keurig coffee machine was just icing on the cake. We left and decided that the next time we travelled to Edmonton, this would be our hotel of choice.

Satisfied customers

Pros: Proximity to shopping, pool area, on site restaurant, price
Cons: Parking, not enough towels in room
Location: West Ed Mall is very easy to get to. Lots of places around to eat. Also close to attractions like the Telus Centre easy access to the highway
Easy to get to off the highway. Great proximity to shopping. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Great convenience having choices for snacks too. Pool area was a good distraction for the teens, even. We all found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. As for the elevator? I was expecting a frightening ride, ha! I've been on worse elevators, there is a bounce to it when you come to your floor...that is all. Was not please with the parking situation. We came and went during the day, each time we came back there were many parking spaces with cones or pallets blocking them, although there is parking in the back, I didn't feel safe parking back there.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about the Travelodge Edmonton West. I’m glad you found our location convenient to many of Edmonton’s wonderful visitor attractions, and that your family enjoyed our waterpark and on site restaurant! I apologize that you found parking difficult during your stay. As we have just completed renovations in one of our guest towers and repainted the exterior of our building, we were having some photography done which required the front parking stalls to be empty for the pictures. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience this caused but hope to see you back to enjoy all of the amenities we have to offer.

Bad hotel, great trip

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Our room was tiny, barely enough room to turn around. Very thin walls, we heard everything going on in the surrounding rooms. The elevator makes some very unsettling noises.
