Great hotel and amazing, friendly staff

Posted Jan 29, 2015
We chose mangos resort for our honeymoon and couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Our flight was unfortunately delayed by a day, however the resort were very helpful in securing the extra nights accommodation we required due to the schedule change. The facilities were of a very high standard and the food was amazing, if you chose to stay at he hotel then I highly recommending having dinner there at least once and the santo eye fillet steak was one of the best I have ever tasted (and I have tasted a lot of steak!!). Even if you are not staying there it is worth the trip up the hill from port villa town, you will not regret it. The hotel staff were some of the most welcoming and friendly staff of any hotel I have ever stayed in and it was a pleasure talking to them about their different cultures on the many islands that make up Vanuatu. The staff were genuinely interested in talking to us and made you feel like a friend rather than a customer. Overall the whole experience was great and I would love the opportunity to go back and stay there again and in the process break my own unwritten rule of never returning to the same place twice, it was that good.

Great Resort

Posted Jan 11, 2015
Pros: Clean rooms, good food
Cons: Advertising not clear...thought resort was right on the lagoon...we had a huge mango tree blocking our view
Location: Close to town, just a bus ride away
We had a great stay at Mangoes Resort. The staff were most helpful and friendly!

Amazing Vanuatu, amazing Mangoes!

Posted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: Everything! The no-children policy made it a perfect resort for couples - we were holidaying without ours and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Cons: Air conditioning in the rooms.
Location: A short walk to supermarkets and 10 minute walk to the main Port Villa shops. Local buses at the door made it easy access to everything on Vanuatu.
This was one of the best holiday experiences we have ever had! The room was great, very clean with all the kitchen facilities needed. The numerous pools were a stunning luxury. The restaurant was superb, with no extra cost for room service (or pool service!). Service was at Vanuatu speed (slow) but always delivered with a friendly smile.

A place to relax

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Friendliness of staff, quiet setting with nice views on the lagoon
Conveniently located between lagoon and city Mangoes provides every possibility to the client who prefers to relax rather than looking for permanent activities. Friendly staff and a good restaurant make a stay pleasant, more good restaurants are in walking distance downtown.

Beers and Sunshine

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Good, quick room service. Lovely place.
Cons: Sometimes the barstaff would mis-hear what I'd said and bring me a different order.
Location: It's a 5 minute walk from Port Villa, So you've got access to all the best in vanuatu.
Mangoes is pretty well rounded. Good food. Accommodation. The works.

Great hotel, fantastic staff.

We stayed in 2 different rooms at Mangoes resort because we checked out to do a seperate tour. Both rooms were fantastic. When our tour was cancelled, they were very accommodating and were able to put us up in the same room for the night. It's almost a 10-15 minute walk to Port Vila main strip, but this meant it was quiet. Restaurant was amazing with prices comparable to that in Australia. Easily the best place we are while we were there. 3 different pools, our first room had it's own plunge pool. And a short walk down to the lagoon if you want a swim. Tour organizer was good and knowledgable. All the staff were amazing, helpful, efficient and friendly. Highly recommend the banana pancakes for breakfast. :-)

Nice hotel great views of the lagoon.

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: It's location, the staff & no children.
Cons: The towles were discoloured & didn't look clean, maybe another colour instead of white? Air conditioning in the rooms would be great. Better TV recept
Location: Perfect location not right in town. Easy walk into town to see the markets, shop, go on the many trips from the wharf & waterfront eateries & bars.
The wait were very friendly & accomodating, especially Tricia & Nick in the dining room, nothing too much trouble. It was a 20 minute walk into town or there are always buses & taxi's available. Rooms were nice & clean.

private pool

Posted Jun 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
My stay was great and I enjoyed the surroundings with out private pool. One thing I didn't like was it was a bit far from everything and wasn't a 10 minute walk either.
