“Crowne Plaza Hotel, Eilat”

This hotel is conveniently located a short walk to the Eilat marina and shopping area. There are many activities to do at the hotel itself for kids, including a really nice swimming pool + baby pool, climbing rock wall, air hockey tables, etc. I was impressed that staff was constantly replenishing towels and clearing the lounge chair area at the pool. Each room has a balcony, so we could sit outside in the evening while our son was sleeping. Unlike most hotels that I've booked on Expedia, when we booked an extra bed for a child, here we got a real 2nd double bed (not a little mattress on the floor as so often happens). It is noisy during the day if your room faces the pool, but it quieted down completely in the evening. For some reason, families liked to congregate in the lobby in the evening instead of hanging out in their rooms. I was pleasantly surprised after reading some negative reviews on this site. It was a very nice experience for a reasonable price.

“Almost great”

Had some personal security issues in the hotel. Lack of response of staff to a repair situation that took forever and was a huge inconvenience. Otherwise, nice location, comfortable hotel, very good food.

“Just a place to sleep”

This is a hotel that caters primarily to families and groups. If you're looking for something more than just a place to sleep, this is not the hotel for you. There is no room service, so if you don't eat the rather dismal (by American standards) breakfast and dinner buffet, you're going to find yourself either going hungry or walking the 15 minutes to the beach at 10:30 pm to buy some fast food. My husband and I were rather disappointed and if we do return to Eilat, will be spending the extra money to stay closer to the beach at a hotel with more amenities.
