“Go to the Dead Sea, but not this hotel”
The hotel was filthy (including rooms and many public areas). Beyond that, I made the mistake of buying a backgammon set in their gift shop and having them mail it to me. It arrived months after they said it would and (since they wrapped it only in paper for international shipping) it arrived shattered. There are better hotels in this location.

The only reason to choose it - location. That is nearest hotel to the sea - about 50 meters.
“Dead Sea American Hotel”
Expedia says that this hotel has WIFI and it's included, but it's not. The hotel is decent as far as Israel Hotels are concerned. It was roomy with a nice view of the Dead Sea. There was also a nice pool and hot tub so that if it was too cold in the Dead Sea you could go there. I would stay here again, but it's pretty expensive for what you get.
“Worst management ever”
We arrived at 3:00 pm but the room wasn't ready and we were told just sit and wait until we're called. They didn't give us any time frame. Another problem is that the hotel doors which lead to the shore were locked at 6:45 pm and reopend at 7:30 am. It's very hot during the day - 104 Deg. F (40 C), and it's hard to be on the sun during the day. We wanted to come out to the beach in the early morning or in the evening and the staff wouldn't let us out. Instead, they sent us to the public beach which is 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The reason we booked this hotel is because it's right on the beach, so we can enjoy the sea without having to walk too far in hot weather, but were very disappointed with the hotel locking the doors. Will NEVER stay in this hotel again unless they change.
“Decent Value..”
Rooms are nice and comfy. It's important to try and get a room with a balcony. They can accomodate a family of 4 in one room.
