nice hotel in central city location

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: central location
Cons: air con and sound proof windows
Good hotel situated right in the centre. I would not recommend this hotel if you are after peace and quiet and a good night's sleep. The hotel is right next door to a church that chimes on the hour all through the night. The hotel is also right at the end of a lively street full of bars and clubs. Great if you were after a night out like us...but not so good if you want something quiet.

Stay across the street at the Hotel Mecure

Posted Oct 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed. The beds were ridiculously small and terribly uncomfortable. The staff was no where to be seen when we we first arrived. A sign said to ring the bell, to which no one answered. In the end we went and had a meal and returned an hour later to have a man who was standing out from follow us in and walk behind the desk and check us in. He looked like the handyman. Same experience for breakfast in the morning. No one around. Save yourself a heap of frustration and stay at a real hotel across the street at the Hotel Mercure, which is where we'll be next time we're in town visiting our friends.
