This hotel is a nice inexpensive option for a room that we needed to stay at for 1 night as we had traveled from El Chalten after hiking Fitz Roy. Staff was really helpful with check-in and everything we needed. Even offered to help carry luggage upstairs. Hotel is not really downtown and requires a car to go out to eat etc (5 minutes drive). The night we stayed it was really windy and we could hear the wind howling around our bathroom window. No worries, as we were really tired and slept through the wind. Hotel had a nice simple breakfast laid out when we took our luggage down the stairs (no elevator). We did not eat breakfast as we were headed to the airport, but it looked to be fairly good. If you have a car you can easily get to downtown, but if not you will need transportation to eat or shop in the downtown area. For our purposes the hotel was an excellent economical option.

Nice place for a couple of days
We stayed here 3 nights (1+2) during our Patagonia trip. The place is quite nice and clean. They had very thin bad pillows though. Offered a decent breakfast too.

This is not fit for humans I understand that this is a HOSTAL not HOTEL even then there are basic things that must be provided. Let me lay out the problems and I’ve posted pics and video - The roof had a huge patch of mildew right above the headboard of the bed. The woman Ingrid said they were full and couldn’t do anything about it - The doorknob and lock seemed it could come off with one jerk - The shower curtain was loose almost about to come off - They couldn’t even print my boarding card for me at the reception This is too dirty and inefficient. I’m not sure how they are getting high marks

Pleasant simple hotel between the bus station and the town. Room was comfortable and budget friendly, and showers were great. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again if travelling through short term :)

Convient Hostel
Puerto San Julian was OK and good return for the price. It is a very simple place but the room was big and convenient. Breakfast was pretty lousy, WiFi service was good. Walkable distance from the town center.

what an incredible value for money! fantastic service and great price. really recommended. wifi was not amazing in the room but OK elsewhere, good breakfast and close to town centre (15m walk / 3m drive)

Friendly staff and comfortable room
Staff were very welcoming and attentive. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the new bus station and about 5-10 minutes walking to the main street in town. Refrigerator in room was a good touch. WiFi worked well in the room. Breakfast was available at 6:30 a.m. which was great if you are planning an early day trip. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Everything exceeded our expectations. Very happy with our stay.

Lovely boutique hotel
Great boutique hotel with exceptional staff and service. The hotel is located less than 10 minutes walk from the main street, and about 10 minutes walk from the bus terminal. Setting is quiet and peaceful. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and went above-and-beyond to make my stay comfortable.

Surprisingly nice rooms
We were not expecting much when we booked given the price and the old CRT looking TV in the picture. We thought it was worthwhile tradeoff between price and that it was just an overnight stop over. We were pleasantly surprised though. We got a corner room with a little balcony. The room itself was huge and so was the bathroom. The free breakfast was simple. The staff spoke good English. They stored our luggage while we went for a half day trip to the glacier. It is a bit outside of the central part of town on the hill. We usually walk everywhere when we travel so it was not a problem for us. I would stay here again. Also, the TV is a flat screen, and the room had a mini-fridge.

Overall, we had a good experience with the hostel. The room was clean. The breakfast spread was decent. The place is near the bus station but not in the center of town -- but we knew this when we booked the place, and it is still within a reasonable walking distance to the center of town. There was an issue with the room rate but it got sorted out the next day when the regular desk person came (she spoke English while the night desk person did not). Our stay was pleasant.

Affordable Place to Crash
Very basic accommodation that is reasonably priced with friendly and helpful staff. Good place to crash for a night or two but would look elsewhere for a longer stay. 15 minute walk into town and not much around the hotel, aside from the Esquina Varela restaurant which is a solid spot.

Hostería Puerto San Julián is a small and unexpensive hotel, located a bit on the edge of El Calafate, but it's only a 10 minutes walk to the city center. There are several restaurants in the neighborhood, so it's not necessary to leave the area to eat. The breakfast offered is good and varied. Our room had 4 twin beds. The heater was set a bit high and we had to sleep with a window open. The beds were on the hard side and the pillows were small.

Great choice when in Calafate
Hosteria Puerto San Julian is a brilliant choice when staying in Calafate. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, the rooms always clean and tidy and it is only 5 minutes from the center. It was a great stay specially because it is really welcoming, the staff is more than happy to help us out in what we needed & the hostel itself is really confortable. If I'm ever again in Calafate, I will for sure return to this hosteria.

Wonderful service and modern hosteria
I would highly recommend this hosteria in el calafate! It is small enough to give you personal attention, but without being intrusive. Gaston and the other staff at the hotel are extremely obliging and helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast is served continental style, is fresh and the dining area homely and bright. Rooms are modern and very neat and clean with modern bathroom facilities. A nice touch is the free internet access in the reception area. Overall a wonderful experience - thank you!
