Stay at a working estancia in Patagonia

Posted Jan 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Kau Yatun is a perfect way to experience a working estancia in Patagonia. It is off the main drag, but 4 blocks to the center of town. There are sheep, birds, mountain views and gardens to enjoy on the property. The hotel restaurant has good fare, and the breakfast was hearty. Our room needed a little help with plumbing and bed availability, but, all in all, our 2 night stay was a real patagonian experience. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Nice place to stay

The hotel is slightly outside center of downtown which has some advantages relative to noise levels of downtown. Easy walking distance. Front desk attentive and helpful. Nice bar. We never ate in hotel restaurant because we enjoy local restaurants. Hotel is very well maintained including grounds that are quite large. Room was nice and very clean. We ended up with double beds although reservation spelled out king. We 'd stay here again.

Attractive hotel undermined by poor reception

Posted Nov 25, 2012 on Hotels.com
Disappointed. Untrained reception staff. Young man who checked us in seemed annoyed that he had to work. Showed us our room but did not even offer to help with luggage. Our hot water didn't work and was never fixed properly. Grounds and room were beautiful but the place seemed dead. Breakfast staff was helpful and friendly. Inconvenient location.
