Great location in the Rocoleta areaPosted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Location was key and newer remodled rooms was a bonus.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
Location: Location is in the heart of Rocoleta area a block or so away from the famous cemetary. Great restaurants all within walking distance.
Stayed at the hotel 2 different times in 2 weeks both experiences were great. It's a safe, clean, new, apartment style hotel. Close to pleanty of restaurants and shopping.

Staff dould not find our reservation despite our "paper proof." Kept denying us a room and offering us a room as a lesser hotel. At our insistence, finally gave us a room and it was not the partial lake view we purchased. Hotel made no provision for food for guests who did not want expensive New Years Eve Dinner and entertainment. All in all, a disappointing experience.

nice experiencePosted Dec 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a nice room, and a nice time there. Breakfast was good and the room was very comfortable. When I asked why I couldn't get on the WiFi they said 'do you have an Apple product' and I said yes, and they smiled and said > sorry they don't work here in Calafate. I argued saying that the other places it worked just fine, but I wasn't able to get on the WiFi with my Iphone or iPad. Everything else was great.

Better than mostPosted Mar 16, 2013
Mid-ranged priced hotel that performs otherwise! Great attentive staff, clean modern rooms, very nice breakfast layout and close to town but not too close. Good internet service, and plenty of common areas to relax from a long day of hiking. Will stay there again.

Great hotel but don't recommend the upgrades.Posted Nov 16, 2012
Hotel was nice but I expected more for the "lake superior view" upgrade I paid for. The lake view was unimpressive and I could hear my elderly neighbors when they were speaking at odd hours. Not very romantic and I would have expected some body cream with the upgrades package at the very least. The hotel, overall, is well run and the location is great. I recommend for travelers but save your money and avoid upgrades.

Mirador del Lag. - good hotelPosted Oct 26, 2012
The rooms are clean and big. The staff was very friendly. The location is good, it is not in the middle of down town but pretty close to walk to.

Hotel Mirador del LagoPosted Apr 7, 2012
Pros: Location (close to the commercial area), friendly staff, decent rooms
I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is great as it is a few blocks from the town center and the commercial area. The room was not that big but there was space for two twin beds. The bathrooms were clean and fully stocked (shampoo, soap, etc.) Wifi was available in the room and the signal was strong, and free. The included continental breakfast was fine, nothing extravagant though. The staff was very laid back and helpful and spoke English. Overall, I would say a good place to say, and a nice jumping off point for any adventure in area. If I were to go back to El Calafate, I would stay here again.

Great location, comfortable setting, very helpfulPosted Apr 2, 2012
Pros: Helpful staff, comfortable base for all tours
Cons: May be more selective about agencies they book with for local tours
Location: Close enough to wall to center, slightly removed for quietness, perfect
All staff are helpful, booked my tours and very straight forward in everything.

Definitely not a 4 starPosted Mar 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel is in a very remote location. You have to walk at least 5-8 min through an area that looks deserted before you get to the beginning of the downtown. We did this walk once during the day and that was enough for us. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. It is dated (ceiling had cracks, bathroom fixtures falling off, etc). In a few years when that empty area fills in and the downtown is connected, and the hotel goes through renovations, this might end up as a great place to stay. Not yet though.

Our stay in El CalafatePosted Feb 6, 2012 on Hotels.com
This was our first trip to El Calafate. Did not know any good places to stay. But I will not recommend this hotel for your stay. We stayed on this place for 2 days on the 1st week of Feb 2012. The hotel is poorly maintained. The carpet is old and torn, The rooms and bathrooms need real renovation work. Their lobby, breakfast area and restaurant is well maintained but their rooms are not good. On our first day after we took the shower the water did not drain out properly and when we woke up in the morning it was gone. We had to complain about it and then they chanegd our room. Also the AC is centralised. No temp control in individual rooms. So if one person complains about cold temp then they would heat up so much that some other person will start feeling hot. This is what happened with us. I was afraid that I might fall sick since our room was getting heated up like a furnace and we were not able to sleep properly. After several requests they did lower the temp. down but said that they had to honor the request form every guest.
