Nice hotel in el chalten

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Very nice experience, nice restaurant close by, ideal to start some of the fitz Roy treks Rooms are very comfortable, nice breakfast with good products It is opposite to the bus station (entrance of the city) but we realized on our way back that the el chalten bus stopped just in front

Very comfortable hotel

Posted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: excellent staff, very comfortable rooms, sauna
Cons: check if chef is going to be available if you don't want to eat out
Location: location is fantastic to explore walks to see Cerro Torre and Fitzroy mountains. Also day trips available to Viedma Glacier, glacier treks/iceclimbing
New hotel, very comfortable spacious rooms. Extensive breakfast Staff very helpful, and knowledgeable about walks in the area Nice lounge to relax in, complementary WiFi and also 2 complementary computers in lounge area. Books available to read about local walks Great spa and sauna, need to reserve a time Chef was absent for part of our stay, as he had to head to visit family for a few days, not a problem as we trying the numerous and very good restaurants in town, but my have been a problem if weather was bad and you didn't want to venture out. Hotel arranged a light 6am breakfast for us due to an early departure, even though breakfast didn't usually start until 7am

Great experience

Great hotel, luxe for El Chalten. Good for those who are past the hostel environment! The spa is wonderful and easy to reserve. Beds comfy. Rooms a tad small. The windows open so you can get the breeze. Internet and cable are spotty as in the whole town. Great breakfast. Would 100% stay there again.

Good option in el Chalten. Wooden floors make for lots of noise from neighbours in the mornings but if you are there for the hiking, your not looking for a lie in! Very clean, good sized rooms.

Great hotel in the middle of nowhere

Posted Dec 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the sauna/spa is only available on reservation. But we had the luck that the hotel was nearly empty, so it was no problem to reserve it for us. Food is delicious. The noise-reduciton is not that good. You can hear a lot...

Next time, we will return

Posted Dec 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the Destino Sur and it is a lovely hotel, the problem was they were out of space and had only a room that was JUST finish (I think that morning) and it smelt terrible! Like they just finished the floors, however the staff was soooo kind and bought us dinner, which was amazing. It is a great location to return from a hiking the Fitz Roy, have a nice hotel, spa, and comfy bed to return too. The breakfast and dinner were both great! I will return for sure!

2nd Nicest Hotel in El Calafate

Posted May 19, 2013
Pros: Great staff. Nice hotel.
Cons: Food service.
Location: Great hiking.
El Calafate has one hotel nicer than this one and another nice hotel is being built. However, El Calafate is just starting to support higher end tourists. It is more of a trekking town. We enjoyed this hotel. The staff is particularly good. It is in an odd location in that most of what is around it is not as nice, but that is the way this town is. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but you can order from restaurants and have it brought in, or you can walk/drive to a restaurant. We did both and both worked fine. We were at breakfast early on the first morning and it was good. On the second morning, we were there later and they had run out of quite a few things we wanted like fruit and juice. They make eggs to your order which is nice.
