Stay Here Only if You Want an Inexpensive RoomPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Staff was friendly. Room and common areas were very clean.
Cons: This hotel is geared for persons who will be staying there 7 days or longer, but room was too austere to provide a comfortable long-term stay.
The room was very clean but very austere. There was no couch or sofa in the room. There was no lamp on the nightstand. There were no curtains on the window, only blinds that did not darken the room day or night. Bed was OK. I stayed on the third of four floors. The first three floors were non-smoking, while the fourth floor was smoking. The elevator reeked of cigarette smoke, luckily the smoke did not penetrate the third floor. Internet service is extra. Dishes and pots and pans for the kitchenette are also extra, but yours to keep once you purchase them. Hotel is sufficiently inexpensive that some people are living there permanently. Access to the hotel is very difficult due to construction on the interstate freeway adjacent to the hotel. This should improve once the construction is complete.

For longer stays, consider a Value Place.Posted Jan 14, 2014
Pros: The VALUE you get for your money: Paying $27/night (at the time *I* stayed 12-24-13 to 1-7-14 check-out) and getting a clean room and functional room.
Cons: RE: the occasional excessively-noisy guests/residents, the office closes @ 6:00pm so what staff is there to go talk to/correct the offending party?
Location: This V-P is WAY our on the Eastside of ELP, but there are plenty of stores/restaurants on this side of town. It's just VERY far from ELP's Westside.
For the most part, this particular Value Place was quite better than expected as I was not sure how "worn-looking" the rooms would being that they only charge $27/night. As it turned out, my room was quite new-looking and very clean. Everything worked. The only problem I had were a couple of rooms that had some low-class (I guess) people in them (with kids) who seemed not to care that the noise all of them made just MIGHT bother the OTHER guests there, especially at night or early in the morning. While it's true you can have inconsiderate/noisy guests at other hotels, too, I have not seen it as loud as here. For example, one guy (late at night) was running with his 2 kids on bikes up and down the entire hallway. Not cool, but after I caught him in front of my door, it all stopped immediately. Still, I'd rather not have to deal with that. Regardless, that's the only negative: SOME other quests. But the ROOM was, IMO, an OUTSTANDING value for the money, with a full-size refrigerator, kitchen sink and 2-burner electric stovetop -- how many regular hotel rooms have that? Room was a bit small, but how much space do 1-2 people need? And because I saved $$ ($27/night), I COULD have stayed longer (than my 7-night reservation) if I wanted, which I may very well do NEXT time I visit El Paso (I go yearly in December to visit friends there). So aside from some noisy people, Value Place in all other areas rates highly. Had little interaction with Front Desk staff but were fine when I did.
