A perfect stop on Elba islandPosted Jul 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
Me and my wife really enjoyed staying at this hotel in Porto Azurro. The location was great as it is barely a 2 minute walk from the port/downtown to the hotel. Not noisy at all and the room was absolutely perfect (only improvement would be a "real" queen size bed instead of those twin beds they put together in Europe, as there's no way to sleep arm in arm like we normally do, because of the middle separation). Anyway, the staff was extremely helpful and we didn't have a problem even though they speak only Italian (we just felt even more that we were in Italy! :)) Breakfast was as good as can be found anywhere in Europe (as Canadians, we always miss a good american breakfast, don't we?) Conclusion: we loved staying at Villa Italia and would go there again without hesitation. We were extremely pleased from beginning to end!

Good value on ElbaPosted Jun 4, 2012
Pros: The balcony
Cons: that the hotel keeper spoke no english
Location: great location close to the main square and shops
Very good value for money. Good position. Ask for a balcony room all though the traffic noise in a front room is heavy. Nice family running hotel but they speak absolutely no English.
