“Most Relaxing Vacation”
I would highly recommend staying at Cocodimama if you are traveling to Eleuthera Bahamas. It has one of the prettiest beaches on the island. We spent most of our time being beach bums and loved every minute of it. The food at Cocodimama was so yummy - hard to find better on the island. Make sure to try one of Sammys mango daiquiris - awesome! Everyone who worked at Cocodimama was friendly and very helpful, especially Allison - couldn't have asked for better. Do bring bug spray for the no see-um bugs that come out expecially at sunset - they do bite!
“CocodiMama Charming Resort”
"Charming" it is. Feels like family welcoming you. Location is superb for sun and water lovers. All of the rooms look out onto the beach which is (LITERALLY) just feet away. For those arriving in Eleuthera by air, it is a relatively inexpensive cab ride from the airport (2? miles away). Those arriving by ferry in Governor's Harbour may find it a little more difficult. Superb food. The staff quickly learn yours preferences, know your name...
“One of my best vacations”
Beautiful place, good food and kind personnel. Ideal for couples looking for a quiet and romatic location. Wonderful sunsets. In spite of the mosquitos I want to come back soon!!
“Charming is a perfect description of Coco Di Mama's”
This hotel is the perfect Bahamian experience. The 3 multi-colored buildings each have 4 units overlooking Alabaster Bay. The beach was absolutely PERFECT & PEACEFUL!! The rooms were clean and provided just enough-- very simple, but very nice. If you've ever been to the Bahamas, you've learned to keep your expectations low on service & cleanliness, but not at Coco Di Mama's. The staff made you feel like part of the family (LOVE Sammy, Natasha, Allison, Collin, and Kelly) and the cleaning crew was always busy at work. The owner was always in the background helping out, but truly allowed the staff to take the front stage. We went during November (Thanksgiving) and it seemed to be a perfect 5 days-- weather was great, the bay was calm, and we didn't really experience any bugs. We felt a few no-see-ums a couple of nights and just chose to eat inside rather than outside. The restaurant was extremely accomodating. They have a terrific lunch menu. So many people rave about their fresh made from scratch Italian dinner menu, but it took us a couple of nights before we found a meal that suited us. It wasn't horrible, just a matter of taste preference. I felt bad one evening as I really didn't like what I ordered. As I tried to doctor it up with a request of marinara sauce instead of a fish sauce that came with the meal, the owner insisted he fix me an entirely new meal to my liking.
“Great place but be aware of the tiny sand flies”
The cottages are cozy, the rooms are spacious and overlook the spectacular cove. The setting is a quiet, secluded bay. If you love crystal blue turquoise water, white sand with rosy reflections, this is the place. I stayed for 4 days. Enough to read three books while relaxing in the beach. The food was good but from the reviews I read I was expecting much more. The guy in charge of the cuisine sprinkles too much pepper over the dishes. The shrimps scattered with coconut in a soft guava sauce were amazingly good though. And they came with no pepper. The whole staff is very accommodating. Samy, the bartender, and Bianca, a smiling young waitress, are very friendly and helpful. Wonderful people indeed. There are two dogs in the property. They are well behaved and sweet. They were excellent company when the beach was just and only for the three of us. Cocodimama is a great place to stay. A piece of paradise which has a "tiny price". Those vicious diminutive critters (sand flies) that come out at dusk. The Off and After-Bite I brought by me did not work well and the numerous red itchy bumps and rushes that cover my legs can prove it.
“This is the Real Bahamas”
The stay was great, Staff is curtious, Restraunt is over priced but the food is very good, It is best to have a rental car so you can explore and eat elsewhere, the beach/ water at the hotel is prestine and just short distance across the main highway you can access the Alantic Ocean, just as beautiful and all to yourself
