Uncommon follow up

Pros: Location and see comments above and value.
Location: Historic downtown nearby bourbon distilleries to tour.
I travelled for a living spending more than 100 nights out / year for over 40 years. I've lost any # of items in the room s over the years and don't recall ever having been called that the item had been found and turned in. Not so at the Bardstown Inn. Unfortunately I was already a couple of hours down the road when I got a call on my cell phone from the proprietor that I had left a pair of gloves. I wasn't going to turn around but did surely appreciate his honesty and follow through.

Old hotel that hasn't been kept-up.

Cons: Where do I start?
As soon as we entered the room we were hit by a stale, musty, moldy smell. We turned down the sheets to check for cleanliness. They were so thin we could see the mattress pad underneath. There were also stains and small holes in the sheets and pillowcases. We went back to the office and informed the lady there that we wouldn't be staying. We found lodging elsewhere.

When I walked into the office I had to ring the bell several times to get the clerk to acknowledge that I was there. The when she came, while talking on the phone, she gave me a disapproving look. I had to wait several minutes with her looking at me. She soon put the phone off her ear and asked what I wanted. I stated that I have a reservation from Expedia. She huffed and then walked to a printer and asked my name. I then proceeded to fill out a card, while she continued to talk on the phone. Then morning at 0700 the office was not opened for me to check out as I needed to leave early. I had to wait for another hour to check out.

The hotel was in a convenient location for our destination. It is an older hotel, but a good value for the price. For a one night stay it was a great choice. Close to the local sites and entertainment, easy to get to. Pleasant staff.

Recent trip to the Bourbon Trail

Older hotel but clean. A bit worn but kept up. Room was nice sized, beds were adequate. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast wasn't, only a bowl of cereal (one of two choices) with milk. Price was right. Would stay there again.

Good price but hotel/motel could most certainly use a facelift and maybe some new carpet and linens.
