“Nice rooms, but disappointing service.”
I am going to try and stay as positive as I can on the newest and perhaps nicest hotel in Clinton. However, every time I have stayed there, including this one, it literally takes forever to check in at the front desk. I can only assume this is because they don't have enough staff working, because I have always had to wait about 10-15 minutes before getting helped. This isn't a 500-room hotel!
The desk clerk was distracted about checking me in, proceeding to help three other guests behind me in line prior to just giving me a room key. They didn't have the room that I had booked on Expedia, which didn't bother me a great deal, but why did they book it if they didn't have it? I ended up staying in a first floor room directly across from the elevator and the outside window was apparently the designated smoking section, so I heard people talking at all hours while I was there just feet outside my room window, along with all of the hallway noise on the other end of the room.
Don't bother going to the pool with the family unless you want a bunch of drunks with glass bottles in the pool area.
For the price paid for the room, I would choose the Hampton on the other side of the interstate any day. Everything about it is better than staying here. Being greeted with a smile and an efficient staff goes a long way. You're not going to find either here.
