Not clean and it was a smoking room

Posted Jul 27, 2015
The room was a smokers room, it reeked of cigarette smoke both Expedia and the hotel knew I requested a non-smoking room. I could not wait to leave

Basic - Nothing Fancy

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Location, right downtown, price.
Cons: Could have been a bit cleaner, towels could use a bit of fabric softener, and a basic soap/shampoo/conditioner unit in the shower wouldn't be a bad.
Location: Ellensburg Jazz in the Valley, Ellensburg Rodeo, State University in town, nice walking areas & outdoor activities (river rafting, hiking, biking)
When the desk clerk discovered that I was the only ONE in the room, he took $5 off my bill . The room was a lot like a college dorm room with "pods" for the TV and towels, and clothes-hooks with aluminum hangers on the wall. Fairly clean and beds were comfortable for people like me who like hard mattresses - there was a variety of pillows to choose from. No shampoo, conditioner or lotion, and itty-bitty bar soap. Towels very basic, but clean - not soft or thick. No coffee pot, microwave or fridge, but coffee in the lobby. TV worked well, and I slept well. If you are looking for a quick sleep-over hotel, nothing fancy, this will work just fine.

Nice hotel close to everything

Posted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: Price was right
Cons: Floor could have been cleaner.
Location: Very close to Central Washington University and the Ellensburg Rodeo grounds. Lots of restaurants nearby
The room was modestly furnished but had everything I would expect a Motel 6 to offer. The beds were comfy, the linens clean, and everything worked just fine. The floor could have been cleaner, but I like that the rooms are not carpeted. The shower head could have been a bit higher - I'm pretty short and I had to duck to get under it, but the water pressure was good. The rails on the walkway along the second floor rooms were a bit sketchy, and there was one step on the staircase that was a different height than the rest of the steps and I tripped on that thing every time I walked up the stairs. Other than that, it was a fine room for the price and I would stay there again.

Very minimalistic decor. Not very clean.

Bed was way too hard. Pool had peeling paint. Blanket was stained. No new washcloths when room was cleaned.

Disappointing facility

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Atmosphere, cleanliness, environment
The room was bleak. Looked like a prison cell. The noise from neighbors kept us up off and on all night. Bugs int he room. Small black spots op lower bed sheet and on inside of shower curtain. FIX THIS PLACE OR CLOSE IT! It was not cheap in cost.

Pros: The hotel is within walking distance to Central University.
Cons: Cleanliness needs work!
We booked a room with two queen beds. Upon arrival the front desk was friendly, accommodating. The beds in the room we were supplied were full size and the shower curtain was clearly falling off the wall, the anchor pieces were showing. We asked the front desk staff about the beds and the reply was "I'm sure what size beds that room has." We were given the room next door which had queen beds and the shower curtain was intact. Cleanliness could use some work.

Pros: cheap
Cons: everything, it is an old outdated hotel that has not been kept up to standards
Location: good location close to downtown and restaurants
no carpet, just thin linoleum on carpet thinnest, cheapest sheets, blankets, and bedspreads ever old, mildewy bathroom pool needed to be cleaned and sanitized no shampoo or amenities like coffeemaker, etc. beds were more like camp cots

Room Conditions

Posted Jul 14, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: clean your rooms, better mattress, furniture in room!
Location: Ellensburg, Wa hotel is where I stayed.
The floor was filthy, the beds were uncomfortable, no where to really put your clothes except an open shelf. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone. For $80.00 it was a rip-Off!

two rooms- they got it right 50% of the time

Posted Jun 15, 2015
one room was fine except couldn't get the ac cool enough, the other the ac worked great but had very dirty coverlets on the beds (both!), and the bathroom door and walls needed attention-- just being wiped down occasionally would help (mucus should stay in a tissue- just sayin'). Neither room had coffee which we were told should have been in the room. Overall, I've stayed in worse!

It's an inexpensive place to sleep

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Pros: The staff and price
Cons: Invest in new pillows and blankets
Location: All Ellensburg has to offer is just a short drive. Easier to get to when visiting CWU than the hotels by the freeway
it was interesting to stay here since I stayed here several years ago when it was still the old Thunderbird. While they have 'remodeled' since then, it is much nicer. However, while they have painted over the old cinder block walls, and added some modern touches, they are cosmetic. They didn't fix anything. For example the bathroom door didn't close, the tob grout was shot, and I'm pretty sure the blankets and pillows were leftover from the old hotel. They were thread ear and stained. Honestly these are trivial things to me. I really just want a place to sleep, and you don't pick the 6 for luxury. However, the pillows were a joke, old, broken down and barely usable, and the bed was beyond uncomfortable, and both my mother and I had horrible back pain through the night. My mother does not have back issues. We were just grateful when the night was over. On the other side, the staff at check in was amazing. While our ck in was simple, I had done it thru Expedia and pre paid, the young woman in front of us had a bit of an issue, that could easily have ruined their trip. I know the desk man broke a rule or two, but didn't bat an eye and just made a decision and took care of it. He could definetly handled it different, and on behalf of the guest he helped, I'm glad he chose the option he did. So, while it wasn't ideal, and I had a horrible night, I'm too cheap to pay 150 dollars or more just to sleep, so it is safe tosay I will stay here again .
