Disappointing Experience

Posted Feb 9, 2015
Pros: The property and grounds are gorgeous, nice distance away from Seattle area.
Cons: Staff could be more helpful, provided more information about getting around and enjoying the area.
Location: The winery nearby is a nice place to stop in to try wines or have a meal.
Not recommended for couples or off season. My husband and I went for weekend getaway on a rainy weekend. We were disappointed with our room and the overall Suncadia experience. We thought there would be lots of amenities to enjoy, even with the rain, but no luck. The indoor pool facility is small, crowded and cold; there are no lounge chairs or other services to make it a place for adults. If there were other activities going on, no one told us about them! We did use the trails in the area for hikes and walks. We liked the food at Portals, but it's pricey and the service was lacking. Our room was very basic. The bed was comfy. No spa-like bathroom, no great views, no fireplace. The TV channels are limited and the on-demand movies are very pricey. We could have stayed at a holiday inn express down the road and had the same experience. Many other great places for couples to go at this price point.

Mediocre

Posted Jan 17, 2015 on Hotels.com
My stay was mediocre. The room was nice, though there were multiple pieces of trash that we found in various places throughout our stay. The biggest disappointment was the food options. If you're going to build a resort in the middle of nowhere, it would be a good idea to have food options available at all hours, or at least after 10PM. We arrived at 10:30, and had to go to bed hungry since there were literally no food options. The room service food tasted good for the most part (do not order the pizza!) but was ridiculously over-priced. The menu in the room stated that gratuity was included in the room service fee, but the receipt stated that tip was not included. This was confusing, and I believe resulted in me feeling forced to double tip, which only increased the price further. While I enjoyed my stay, mostly it was because I hung out in a hotel for two days relaxing, and didn't have much at all to do with this specific resort. I don't see a reason to return.

Easy getaway from Seattle

Posted Dec 27, 2014
I've stayed here several times and always enjoy my stay. This time, the check in staff didn't really know much about the Expedia + Gold benefits so I had to ask a manager to help. Other than that service was amazing and we always felt taken care of

Beautiful modern lodge. 6000 acres, trails, river.

Pros: The magnificent setting, luxury rooms, beautiful lodge atmosphere, and a friendly, very competent staff.
Incredible setting. Spectacular lodge. Fine dining. Everything you'd want from an outdoor experience, luxurious accommodations, a staff that does it's best to meet your needs. Everything is top notch.Th

Great weekend getaway

Posted Oct 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel, restuarants, golf and overall setting were fabulous. The Spa facilities and treatment staff were great but the Spa front desk was understaffed for the number of guests trying to check in and out. We were suprised with the number of families traveling with small children which made the common areas noisy and uninviting for guests looking for a more relaxing atmosphere.

great place for a family getaway

Posted Sep 2, 2014
excellent place to hang with family. rooms are very nice. only issue is restaurants, we waited a long time to get served at The Inn, the wait staff just never came over and I had to ask for help. our reservation at Portals for breakfast was made for the wrong day, but they did fit us in fortunately. also, I wish there was heating for outside tables, because we would have sat there if there was. Also, we wanted to watch The Huskies football game as a family but it was only on in the bar for some reason. could not watch on our room either. The pool and all activities are excellent, as is Dawson Park. Definitely bring your bikes in the summer.

Don't stay here!!! Awful!

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Nice grounds, nicely appointed rooms
Cons: Have had better service at virtually all the 2 star places I have stayed.... staff and service were yuck!
Location: Golf, biking, hiking (incredible), Roslyn and Cle Elum Bakery... great!
Don't stay here unless you enjoy awful service and wasting piles of money. We spent in excess of $400 per night which earned us the smallest studio suite available in the Lodge. On arrival, we were one of several guests waiting for someone to show up to the front desk (seriously? Even Holiday Inn's make sure they have staff at the front desk at all times, especially during peak check-in hours). We were looking forward to a nice stay for $400 per night (Oh, but wait, that does not include the "resort" fee that gets tacked on to your final checkout/incidental bill). Self parking was full, nowhere to park. We earned a stay in the smallest room available. The room was nicely appointed, however our shower/tub drain was clogged (again, very disappointing the staff didn't catch this in a higher end facility). I hate standing in un-drained shower water, yuck. Night 1... behind us, we looked forward to a better day and 2nd night ahead.... Day 2 we left at 10am, returned around 6pm to find that housekeeping had not quite made it to our room yet. Again... REALLY? Even a Comfort Inn gets the rooms cleaned before 6pm. WOW. 6:30pm... knock on the door... Housekeeping wondering if we wanted service... NO, we do not feel like hanging out waiting for staff to clean a room at 6:30pm, thank you we will endure a messy room. Rude valet on departure, again yuck. I make 60 trips a year, this was in my top 2 worst stays in the last year. Wow!
