great place for a family getaway

Posted Sep 2, 2014
excellent place to hang with family. rooms are very nice. only issue is restaurants, we waited a long time to get served at The Inn, the wait staff just never came over and I had to ask for help. our reservation at Portals for breakfast was made for the wrong day, but they did fit us in fortunately. also, I wish there was heating for outside tables, because we would have sat there if there was. Also, we wanted to watch The Huskies football game as a family but it was only on in the bar for some reason. could not watch on our room either. The pool and all activities are excellent, as is Dawson Park. Definitely bring your bikes in the summer.

Don't stay here!!! Awful!

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Nice grounds, nicely appointed rooms
Cons: Have had better service at virtually all the 2 star places I have stayed.... staff and service were yuck!
Location: Golf, biking, hiking (incredible), Roslyn and Cle Elum Bakery... great!
Don't stay here unless you enjoy awful service and wasting piles of money. We spent in excess of $400 per night which earned us the smallest studio suite available in the Lodge. On arrival, we were one of several guests waiting for someone to show up to the front desk (seriously? Even Holiday Inn's make sure they have staff at the front desk at all times, especially during peak check-in hours). We were looking forward to a nice stay for $400 per night (Oh, but wait, that does not include the "resort" fee that gets tacked on to your final checkout/incidental bill). Self parking was full, nowhere to park. We earned a stay in the smallest room available. The room was nicely appointed, however our shower/tub drain was clogged (again, very disappointing the staff didn't catch this in a higher end facility). I hate standing in un-drained shower water, yuck. Night 1... behind us, we looked forward to a better day and 2nd night ahead.... Day 2 we left at 10am, returned around 6pm to find that housekeeping had not quite made it to our room yet. Again... REALLY? Even a Comfort Inn gets the rooms cleaned before 6pm. WOW. 6:30pm... knock on the door... Housekeeping wondering if we wanted service... NO, we do not feel like hanging out waiting for staff to clean a room at 6:30pm, thank you we will endure a messy room. Rude valet on departure, again yuck. I make 60 trips a year, this was in my top 2 worst stays in the last year. Wow!

Underwhelming stay at Suncadia Lodge

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: The location is beautiful. We took a great day hike down to the river. We also had a good breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
Cons: The hotel overall feels worn. Rip in the room couch, dings in the walls/doors/hallways. Very low quality tv in bedroom. It just feels tired.
Location: We had a great dinner at the Cottage Café in Cle Elem. Breakfast all day and large slices of pie. Yum!
The front desk had our reservation but had no record of our prepayment through Expedia. They said that the prepayment USUALLY works out Suncadia also got our final bill wrong. At checkout, Suncadia had our bill wrong, thought we were part of a corporate group, couldn't find the correct bill. The room seemed to be one of the worst in the Lodge. It was directly one floor up from the driveway/main entrance to the Lodge. All we saw from our room was cement, cars, and people getting in and out of their cars. There was so much activity that we never felt comfortable sitting on our deck chairs due to zero privacy. The couch had a large tear down the front. Two front desk calls and it was never changed out. We could never regulate the room temperature. The living room (hideabed space) had to be really warm in order for the bedroom not to be freezing. The bedroom door was ajar and couldn't shut. Poor bedroom tv. On the second day of our stay, the indoor/outdoor pool had zero towels. However, the towels were all strewn around both pools, laying dirty all over the place. As we were leaving dripping wet, the desk clerk handed us 2 BATH MATS for towels. The Lodge has so much potential, but so many things were just off. This was a disappointing stay.

We loved our stay at this resort!

Posted Jul 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our family is planning to visit The Lodge at the Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, WA next summer and stay for more than two days, and request rooms that overlook the mountains. The view is breathtaking! At night they had complimentary s'mores around the fire outside, which was fun. Also they had bicicles, mopeds, canoes and paddleboats to rent. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were beautiful and had a great kitchen with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, oven and dishes and cookware. Everything was spotless within the kitchen and the rest of the room. Also, we enjoyed sitting outside on our deck each morning with a cup of coffee. This resort may cost a little more, but it is worth it!

Spring break family style

Posted Apr 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
We loved spending spring break at Suncadia. The resort had family activities planned all week and our children were treated kindly at every turn. The highlights of our stay: smores campfire, game night, the indoor pool and water slides, beer tasting (for the adults), bike paths, walking trails, and a terrific day hike. All (but the beer) was included as part of the $25 resort fee. This was our third trip to Suncadia- the first was business, the second romantic (no kids), and the third as a family. We've enjoyed all 3!
