What we expected.

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Clean, large tv, very quiet
Cons: More selection for breakfast.
Location: Very easy to find, on the main drag. Not too far from the wolf center or downtown.
Good room. We stayed in room 205, 2nd floor towards the end away from the stairwell. We had a double queen room. Room was well kept, as was rest of hotel. I liked that the bathroom sink was outside of the main bathroom. Makes it easier for the two of us to get ready in the morning. Free breakfast consisted of toast, cinnamon roll, waffles, apples, oatmeal, two types of cold cereal, eggs you could warm up in the microwave, two juice choices and coffee.

Decent hotel for the price.

Needed a hotel in Ely for the night after leaving the BWCA. This was a decent choice for a reasonable price. Staff was pleasant, property was clean and in good condition. Not a five, or even four star property but we didn't pay 4 star prices either. Clearly refurbished in recent years with new fixtures, carpet, etc. Good choice for before or after a wilderness stay.

Nice hotel at the edge of town

Posted May 29, 2015
Pros: It is easy to find at the end of the main street in Ely. They checked us in quickly and the room was great!
Cons: All was satisfactory.
Location: Because the hotel is at the east end of the main street, we drove to the middle of town and parked. From there it was an easy walk to every place.
The hotel is in good condition with clean rooms and a satisfactory breakfast buffet (love those make your own waffle griddles). The room rate was appropriate for the accommodations - especially when you figure in breakfast. We would stay there again.

Mediocre at Best. Poor Value.

Posted May 24, 2015
Pros: The room was clean and the TV was up to date and worked well.
The hotel was a poor value considering, with tax, it was nearly $100 per night. It had a cheap appearance with things like Save our Planet labels pasted to the mirror and the hallway stinking of a very strong odor of ethnic cuisine such as curry and garlic. The "free" breakfast was poorly stocked and there were only two tables in the breakfast area. The manager was cordial but nothing more. The hotel did, however, seem clean and the room had a nice flat screen TV. Next time I'm in Ely, I'll definitely be staying elsewhere. This was pretty much the last time I'll stay in any Super 8. I can remember when staying at a Super 8 was a pleasant experience and the quality was consistent from one hotel to the next. Unfortunately, those days are gone.

Acceptable.

Pros: Clean.
Cons: Food.
Location: Lots to do in Ely.
Lousy (free) breakfast. Not worth it, even free. Bed was comfortable. Staff friendly.

Nice hotel, conveniently located, easy to find

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Checked in a little early. I asked for a first floor room, was reminded that I should have made the request when I booked. They did accomodate me which I appreciated. Breakfast was a little disappointing but what I expected. They must of updated recently and I found it to be very comfortable.. I would stay there again.
