"Terrible night in La Moulieniere des Longchamps"
The night before, for the same price, we stayed in a beautiful Chateau that was part of the same hotel group near Riberac. we expected the same standard in this hotel. On arrival I was dismayed because first question was what time are you going tomorrow (answer 7.30) because breakfast starts at 8.30!! Also can you settle your account now as nobody will be there at 7.30 and we leave at 7pm this evening. At that point I realised there would be no staff on site after that time. As it turnied out we were the only guests there that night. When we got to our room we were disappointed to see the room was a double not a twin! I had asked for a twin as i was traveling with my 17 year old daughter. The lady said they had no twins and must have been a mix up at booking. She said she would see what she could do. We never saw her again. Despite there being other rooms free we were not offered another solution, all the receptionist said was "I hope your dad does not snore!" We went for a meal in St Malo and when we got back to the empty hotel we set on separating the bed (it was possible if you unzipped the velcroe holding the base and mattress together, and then shared a double sheet each to make two beds by sharing the bed linen. The room was small not entirely clean and the whole experience a real let down for the last night of our holiday.

"hotel nice but needs some updating"
We spent three nights at the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and unusually for a French hotel we had a mini bar and tea/ coffee making facilities. However there was no milk and only a two sachets of instant coffee were provided each day. The shower room was good but slightly dated. The hotel had a good location right on the promenade and a 20 minute walk to the old town. Le Cap Horn restaurant was excellent as was the beach bar restaurant la Terrace but we found the bar upstairs to lack atmosphere and style. The swimming pool was heated salt water and was a nice temperature. It was relatively quiet and a decent size. There was a small unisex changing area (some cubicles) beside the pool which was not quite what we were expecting. We also had to find our own towels in a cupboard in the corridor and were treated with disinterest by the pool attendant. When swimming you also have to wear blue and white caps - these are provided in the hotel rooms and it was fortunate that we had brought them down to the pool. We did not use the spa. When we left we were surprised to have been charged for breakfast as we had booked room only and had not eaten in the mornings. The hotel did, however, refund our money when we pointed this out. I would advise anyone planning a stay to check their bill carefully.
