Surprising

Posted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: I like the lady who runs the hotel. She is very friendly, polite and helpful.
Cons: The rooms need a little renovating such as new carpeting.
Location: I was there on business, and didn't have time to do anything fun.
This hotel is an older building. The most noticeable thing is the narrow doors of the entrance to each room. Inside, the room is large, and they are clean rooms. The staff is great. They are very helpful and willing to bend over backwards to help a guest. If this is going to be a short stay, this is just perfect. The WiFi is inconsistent and if you have a lot of work to be done, you might want to choose another hotel. The strength of the signal is weak even though you may be close to the office.

Nothing Flash y but good in a pinch

Posted Sep 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
This was the cheapest place we could find in town so I honestly wasn't expecting much, but that doesn't mean somethings could have been different. The beds were listed as queens but one was obviously a double, the phone didn't work at all, the AC barely worked, and the overall cleanliness of the room left something to be desired. Luckily, we were only there for one night so it was tolerable.

Hotel is in good location for our needs.

Hotel had a missing coffee pot and the phone did not work. It had a great place to park our truck and trailer. Probably the most disappointing part of the stay was the scarce breakfast offerings.

Dated hotel but excellent price

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Friendly staff! Room was dated, one sink did not work and no microwave. Otherwise very comfortable beds and kids loved the pool. Hotel could have provided more towels to accomodate with a pool and family of 5. Would we stay again? probably

Affordable but below average.

Jelly appeared to have expired years ago; otherwise OK appearing breakfast although I did not eat any of it. Room was good; reaked of lysolf, Cig burns in comforter and old pillows but overall was comfortable. Entire motel had old furniture outside the rooms; they were nicer than Inside the rooms but some were marked as sold and being picked up so I assume a downgrade not an upgrade was taking place. Door to room was broke requiring secret lift-pull-swipe-wait-push method to open; it worked about 10% of the time. Never saw the pool as I had an outside accessed room in the front. Nothing really within short walking distance besides other hotels but nothing in Emporia is more than a 5-10 minute drive away which was nice.

Worked for us after the Symphony in the FlintHills

Posted Jun 11, 2012
Pros: That it was close to roads we were driving.
Cons: Parking lot needs repaving. Not sure of entrance--this hotel and a Knight's Inn are combined.
Location: On state highway at west end of town.
It would be a good stop for temporary workers in the area and for travelers who just need a bed and shower. It's in the budget category.

O.K. for the price

It's about what I would expect for a Motel @ this price range Nothing exceptional, but O.K. for the price.

Got what I paid for

I didn't expect a 5 star hotel for the price but there was trash still in the room and used bar of soap in the shower.

Rodeway Inn in Emporia

Posted Jun 16, 2010 on Hotels.com
The rooms were very spacious, and clean. The breakfast was nice and the staff very helpful and friendly. The only thing that could be improved was the pool area, it was very hot and humid. They opened up some upper windows and that did help. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends.
