Good location, Terrible Continental Breakfast

I was very disappointed by my stay at this establishment. The room was clean and the inn was located near the main highway; however, the heater in the room was not working well enough to fight the negative temperatures that were outside the door. The d├ęcor is old and the continental breakfast consisted of dry muffins, dry cereal, and bread. The only good food to be had at the continental breakfast was the apples and oranges when they were still available. After my first night stay, I was hoping for better service. On my next night, I come back to the inn to find that my room had not been cleaned that day with dirty towels left. I will not be staying at this inn ever again.

Pros: The staff was helpful and nice, breakfast was impressive, location of hotel was great.
The only disappointment in hotel was the pool was listed as inside, this is not correct. It is a inside/outside pool and we were not able to use it because it was to cold. This was the main reason I picked this hotel was so that my kids would be able to swim.

Normal for a old motel.

Cons: It was fine for the age of the building.
Location: Location was fine
The stay was fine a extra $35.00 was charged to my card, not sure why looking in to that now.

Dear Mr. Big Ben, The property management system authorizes $25.00 extra for incidental expenses. It would be released when you check out. It would go back to your card in two or three working days. Thank you for the business.

inexpensive hotel with disappointing amenities

Pros: good staff
Cons: repair broken amenities
Location: northwest corner of Emporia ... but easy to get around town to all sights
Good price and good staff ... Hot tube and pool and sauna not working ... food served at wedding reception cold

Dear Mark, We are fixing the spa & the sauna now. It should ready by middle of January. The indoor/outdoor pool is seasonal. Come back again.

Pool and hot tub did not work. Picture on internet makes it seem like a nice place to stay but it was not.

Our pool is an indoor/outdoor pool which is seasonal. The spa would be ready for use from 2nd week of January. We are very sorry that you could not use the pool or the spa when you stayed here. We hope you come back again

Disappointing

The lumpiest pillow I've ever tried to lay my head on. TV remote did not match the TV in the room so I couldn't control volume. Asked the desk clerk for help and was told "sorry" and "all I can do is report it in the morning." Air conditioner was so noisy I thought it was going to take off into the stratosphere--so I had to turn it off while sleeping. And there is a weird grate over the light over the sink so you can't see very well. I had an inside room and it was pretty quiet. Plentiful cold breakfast offering and the woman staffing the breakfast was super nice.

Not for light sleepers

This hotel is set up as two hotels with outside rooms and insude rooms. We were unlucky and received an outside room #119. This particular room is a designated "pet room" but we disnt have any pets. This portion of the hotel is literally located beside the on ramp onto the highway with the bright highway lights lighting the parking lot. For being a pet room, i will say that it was clean with only a faint dog smell in one corner where the table and chairs are. I didnt notice it while sleeping. The pillows are a bit lumpy, but they give you a sheet, blanket, and comforter which is nice. The room was comfortable and the ac/heater worked well. The TV is old style. Ours was a bit fuzzy at the top, but it didnt bother us. They have a morning breakfast with cereal, pastries, yogurt, and fruit. The lobby has been refinished and looks nice and updated. The inside rooms appeared as though they would not been as bright or as loud. If I had received an inside room, i'd say you cant beat the price of youre just wanting a place to lay your head for the night. All three front desks clerks were kind and helpful.
