“Great place to stay”

Really friendly, nice all-round hotel, good rooms with plenty of safe parking. Fair price which included full English breakfast. You would not want more for a stay away.

“What a strange experience”

This was a very late booking at a good price. It's a pub with rooms really but the room was very nice and the pub is not noisy. One of the bannisters was loose but our room was very nice and spacious. However, although breakfast was offered the night before, in the morning there was no one there. In fact only the front door was open so we had to let ourselves out. Fortunately we hadn't intended to have breakfast but it was strange to say the least.

“Good for price”

Booked two rooms, one of which was nicer than the other despite same price. Bedroom fine but ensuite needs updating, especially shower. Friendly staff but breakfast service slow, food quality and presentation could do better with servings quite small. Overall for a cheap overnight stay to see the surrounding area, The Crown was ok.

“Very nice room above a pub - a bit loud and grubby though”

This is a fairly nice hotel perched above a pub. The staff are friendly and helpful, and its location is near the station. The local area is a very nice, quiet town by the harbour, with lots of good places to eat (although expect to find yourself paying London prices for the food!). The room itself was of a decent size with a good sized bed and clean sheets etc. There were, however, a few peculiarities, including a bumpy floor and a lack of adequate sound proofing between the different rooms and the pub downstairs. The bathroom, in particular, received a lot of background noise from the other rooms and the pub below. The room was also quite dusty and had a lot of aged cracks etc. All in all, it was a decent enough place, good to stay in with no major problems. It is a big grubby and loud in places, but nothing that should really put you off the place.

“Weekend in Emsworth”

Quirky little hotel with very friendly staff. Right in the heart of town with nice pubs and restaurants. Good value for money. Would stay there again.
