Unexpected displeasure.Posted Aug 25, 2014
I was informed as I checked in that there was a live band performing in the bar that evening. It was sold to me as if this was a huge bonus to my stay. It most certainly was not. I was asked to leave my card details "in case I have a wild party" (very droll) Unfortunately I was not offered recompense for them having one.

DisappointingPosted Aug 15, 2014
The hotel room needs upkeep. The facilities are poor for the price which didn't include breakfast.

A well managed hotelPosted Aug 13, 2014
Paul and his wife were excellent in that they were friendly ,made us welcome and attended to our every needs. We accidently lost the aerial connection to the TV which was fixed within seconds. That is what I call service iii The breakfast called Prince was too much for me

Great night innPosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: All the staff were " with it" and led by good management.
Cons: Getting close for a redecoration.
Location: We were working in area but the harbour/river is very nice at high water.
The Landlord is a great character. He recognized us as guests and welcomed us before we'd left the car park. Although their is some fine dining in the area, the best value was certainly within the hotels bar, including a tempting fish menu. Thursday night was "open mike" night, an area obviously blessed with some great " old muso's" who played and sang with a very pro touch, We enjoyed it tremendously. I've never stayed in such a lively hotel this south of Sedgefield. Such a busy night but all the staff handled it comfortably.

Great LocationPosted Jun 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
We are frequent visitors to Emsworth but had stoped staying at the Crown as it had become tired, dusty and scuffy. With new management it's cleaner with a friendly atmosphere but theaccomodation areas unfortunately are still very tired and scruffy.

Closest available to appointmentPosted May 31, 2014
Bar busy used as local pub with a loud late band. Room single glazed windows overlooking full car park. Bathroom plumbing extremely noisy. No breakfast service offer. Poor value. All staff pleasant but can't think why I would stay again.

Bit worn, but great staffPosted May 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
Room ok, small and cramped, no bathroom attached as advertised by the provider, bathroom next door, up 2 steep flights of stairs, plenty of parking, lovely owners

The Bed was clean and comfortablePosted May 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
We were so pleased we only booked a room at the Crown Hotel for 1 night ,the room was dirty ,electric plugs did not work ,electric towel rail broken and fixed together with sticky tape.We had no hot water until 7am the next day so we were unable to shower the day of arrival. The landing areas to our room were dirty and thick with dust and all the carpets were filthy. We slept in the bed for the night which was ok and left first thing the following morning. The food was reasonable but expensive .We would not recommend this Hotel to anybody .
