“Unsecured doors on the side, Moldy Coffee Pot, need I say More!!!”
I arrived at the hotel late Wednesday night, around 1am. Check-in was not an issue and we had our keys in just a minute. This is where it starts to go bad. The clerk told us to just drive around to the side to come in, the door is unlocked. Why at 1am in the morning is the side security door unlocked? It should never be unlocked, especially at 1am. Well, we proceeded to drive around the side, and yes the door was unlocked. Actually it was never locked during my stay. Upon entering the room I noticed an odor, I figured maybe it was the stale smoke from previous hotel guests. Being that it was now approaching 1:30am and we had a business meeting the next morning, we better get to bed. The next morning I awoke and went to make a pot of coffee, but I now discovered the smell. The coffee pot was dirty and not only had the old bag still in it, but the coffee was completely moldy. I called the front desk and told them I'd back this afternoon, can you fix this please? 2pm I arrived back at the hotel, and my moldy coffee pot was still there. I unplugged it and brought it to the front desk. The young lady asked if I'd like her to wash it. I said no thanks. I asked if I could speak to a manager and was told there wouldn't be one in until Monday. Reflecting on my way back to the room, I realized it's a long time from Thursday until Monday to have no manager. I called Choice Hotels and asked to have a manager from the hotel call me, but almost a week later I have heard nothing back.
