Wonderful hotel at the BeachPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Swimming Pool, Walkboard Las terrazas Restaurant
Cons: There is no elevator to access second floor. Access to the hotel rooms (Tikal and Palenke) are limited to ONE....
Location: Location is excellent... you have evrything within the hotel, however if you want to go outside, you are aprox. 10 minutes away from Downtown
We stay here for two nights, excellent service and a very nice place to stay. Swimming Pool Area is really good for kids, Jacussi is awesome, and the combined view of the ocean, beach and swimming pool is unforgetable.....

Beautiful resortPosted Feb 17, 2014
Estero beach hotel was even better than expected! It is very reasonably prices for what it is and the rooms are huge, clean, and have wonderful views. For under 100 dollars a night we had a view of the ocean, could hear the birds chirping in the morning, and could watch the sun set from our balcony. There is a nice pool and 2 hot tubs as well as tennis courts and beach volleyball. It's a little ways to downtown but it is quite the escape and we had a wonderful time.

Cancun like feel in EnsenadaPosted Feb 3, 2014
Cons: Bar/Entertainment could be opened later. And all inclusive would be nice.
Location: Starbucks, McDonald's & tons of taco stands at every corner.
Ocean view from our spacious room, beautifully landscaped & secure resort. What more can you ask for? Definitely feels like Cancun in Ensenada! This will be our go to resort in Ensenada from now on.

Surprisingly nice but little out of way from toPosted Jan 24, 2014
A bartender went out of his way to return my handbag I left with $200 cash in it and found me at the jacuzzi! I was bowled over and grateful. Very nice staff. The guy who rented kayaks to us was super chilled out and let us keep the kayaks 15 min longer with no charge since it off season. We saw seals sunbathing up close on the island nearby. A little out of the way with not much of beach but the room was clean, spacious with view of the water. The restaurant was fine. The staff were super helpful and nice, printing out movie times for us and we felt safe. Nice, manicured grounds, pool, jacuzzis. If anything, it was a little too clean & sterile for my tastes! The nearby town of Estero Beach had some amazing taco & tostada stands. The Big Burro's fish tacos were phenomenal and they made tortillas fresh for you, pressing and frying them. The hotel is off this wide road with loads of chain stores and was about 10-15 min from the town's center. I didn't love driving that road going in and out of town.

Great for a weekend getaway.Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: Quiet and laid back atmosphere. Jacuzzis at night. Fasttrack pass for convenient border crossing on the way back
Cons: Staff the pool bar. Better service in the restaurant.
Location: Definitely go to the "La Bufadora". Make sure not to take one the first available parking spot. Drive through the little street with shops to the end.
The hotel was great for a short getaway. 90 minutes drive from San Diego, we had a very relaxed weekend there.

Great relaxing getaway!Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: Scenery, hot tubs, relaxing
Cons: Pretty far from the bars / main part of Ensenada ($20 cab ride)
We drove down to Estero beach from San Diego for a birthday mini-vacation (in Jan 2014) ! We were a little hesitant at first considering not very many people drive through Mexico anymore, but it was a great and fun trip. A couple things to keep in mind when driving down: 1) Have directions or a map on hand as most cell phones don't work. The hotel is in the south part of the city so you need to drive through the city to get there (the hotel is about 1 hr 45 mins from the border) 2) We took the toll road (except for the detours) and there were two toll booths each way with a toll of $2.50 each (or around 30 pesos), but you can pay in dollars pretty much everywhere 3) Reasonably price restaurant with great service and good food at the hotel 4) Great pool / hot tub and beach view which was all to ourselves in the off-season 5) Staff is very accommodating and friendly. They even gave my gf a desert and drink on the house for her birthday Overall though, don't be hesitant to make the drive down from Southern California, as this is a great destination for a few days. You can explore the city of Ensenada and be removed enough to have a quiet and relaxing getaway for a few days. I would highly recommend for anyone thinking of driving into Mexico.
