"Great experience"
Great hotel, sounds awful ..but we actually loved our apartment far more than the posh hotel. we were upgraded to at the start of our holidays. which was palatial. We didn't really know how much our breakfast was as nobody had explained it to us.. it cost £25 each which was rather steep, although we didn't have to have it , we felt we should for the experience of the New York Cafe . Had i have known i would have had prosecco even at that time of the morning . I felt that maybe as it was their request we moved there that the breakfast should have been on them. The staff were all so helpful and really put themselves out for us . Telling us about the weather and directing us to places of interest etc.

"3 DAY CITY BREAK"
Glad we picked the hotel CONTINENTAL ZARA FOR OUR 1ST TIME TO BUDAPEST. SITUATED ON THE PEST SIDE OF THE DANUBE, WE HAD GREAT SERVICE FROM ALL THE STAFF AND I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO RECOMMEND THEM. ONLY CRITICSM WAS THAT THE HOTEL WAS WAY TOO HOT AND THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS TOO NOISY. THE FEATHER PILLOWS WERE MILES TOO FULL AS THEY PUSHED YOUR HEAD FORWARD AND WE BOTH HAD NECK ACHE. THEY HAVE SEVERAL PILLOW OPTIONS SO WE TRIED THE MEMORY FOAM BUT WE DIDN'T GET ALONG WITH THESE EITHER. DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR AN ALTERNATIVE IF THE ONES PROVIDED DON'T SUIT. THE STAFF REALLY DO WANT TO HELP. THE STREET IS A BIT ODD IN THAT SOME PARTS ARE NICE AND SOME NOT SO NICE, HOWEVER WE FELT PERFECTLY SAFE AT ALL TIMES/ GREAT ARCHITECTURE THROUGHOUT THE CITY. RESTAURANTS VERY REASONABLE FOR A CITY AND WE EVEN CAME BACK WITH SOME MONEY! TRY THE NOIR DE L'OR FOR FOOD - EXCELLENT WHEN WE WERE THERE. VISIT THE CITY PARK NEXT TO HERO'S SQ. WE USED THE UNDERGROUND AND BOUGHT A DAY TICKET FOR ABOUT £4 EACH.

"More than just a holiday,"
We were booked in to the Hotel for 8 days in a superior room, but at check in were informed that they were able to upgrade us to a junior suite. Just the first of many lovely surprises. The joy of living in this beautifully resorted and historic building, the sumptuous breakfast buffet, the magnificence of the dining areas, the style and comfort of the furnishing, all made this holiday a very memorable experience.

"Scary looking location but very nice"
So when you first get to this place the street right outside the hotel looks scary. I walked everywhere in Budapest even though there is a metro stop 5 minutes away, and I walked all hours of the day and night and never once had an issue with anyone there. The restaurant had pretty decent food, Breakfast was reasonably priced and had no complaints (other than the little croissants that were just a little too delicious). Its about a 20 minute walk to the pedestrian area and lots of really nice touristy things. There is a little street on the other side that is lined with really good eateries. When I go back to Budapest I will definitely be staying here. One item to note is the taxi I picked up at the airport charged WAY too much to get there, from the airport to the hotel should take 30 minutes and cost around 10000 HUF.

"Enjoy your stay here :-D"
Pros: very clean, reception team were very helpful, especially at 11pm check in (to to an error from Expedia to the hotel (giving the wrong name)). Told they would sort it in the morning but until then enjoy our stay. Comfortable room, and did the job. Neutrals: a bit dated now, looked old, but not worn. Double bed, had separate duvets (great as it meant no stolen sheet in the night) Restaurant food, was reasonable and price was fair, also if they didn't have what you wanted on the menu, you cold ask, and if they had the means you could have your chosen meal. Cons: deceptive bell boy, there was one man, who every time we went to the door, ran to it, as if he would get the door for us, but then he would barge past us, and take his phone, or light a cigarette. Very strange. Restaurant, closed at 9pm despite being open until 11. We went with a school group staying at the hotel, so the restaurant was noisy, but the rooms were very well protected from sound, and we were not disturbed. One small note though, you need to leave the do not disturb sign out, as on two occasions we were woken by house keeping coming in, they don't knock until inside your room. however I loved this hotel, very happy, great location, easy to get around from. I GIVE IT A GREAT BIG THUMBS UP ENJOY YOUR STAY HERE :-D
